Terrace Martin – “Poetic Justice (Saxophone Mix)”

By Samir S. / 03.05.13

Kendrick Lamar might have been the featured artist when he hit up the Late Show with David Letterman last week for a performance of “Poetic Justice,” but by the end of the night, he had ceded the spotlight to band member and good kid, m.A.A.d city co-producer Terrace Martin.

That was Martin, decked out with the rest of the team in a black TDE hoodie, who stole the show with nothing more than his saxophone, infusing Kendrick’s current single with a healthy dose of soulful, swinging jazz – and in the process hitting the perfect note for a late night TV showcase.

Having rightfully earned a heap of praise for the performance, Martin releases a sax-heavy instrumental mix of the song. All that’s left now is to vibe out and wait for someone to slip this into the original mix.
