With his own celebrity growing more by the day, and given the fact he’s helped give Wayne his best single in years, Future’s budding single just received a dose of even more commercial appeal. Weezy returns the favor with his appearance on “Karate Chop.”
At the moment, there’s no way to tell if the pro-Carter installment will be marketed as the “official version” instead of one of those cases where an artist tacks their audio fingerprints at the end in what’s seen as the modern-day remix. Casino – who I mistakenly thought was Waka Flocka on the original – never seemed to grow on me. Wayne’s verse was Wayne. That’s about the best way to put it. Aside from that uncomfortable and unnecessary Emmett Till reference, Weezy, obviously high on something, doesn’t bring the property value down here. In fact, everything after “these hoes think I’m blind” is actually pretty entertaining.
On another note, if you haven’t heard this song not sober, you haven’t lived yet. Get drunk enough and I swear this song makes all the sense in the world. I wouldn’t lie to you.
