Drake – “Started From The Bottom” (Prod. By Mike Zombie)

By Raj / 02.01.13

And here we go. The train heading for Drake’s third studio album has officially left the station with the inaugural single “Started From The Bottom.” It’s a solid starting point that’s significantly less sing-songy than what we’ve come to hear from the Canadian emcee in recent years, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. However, the record itself doesn’t sound like first single material and I’d be willing to bet it’ll wind up on the cutting room floor, or as some sort of a bonus track in about a half-year’s time.

Still, it serves a friendly reminder of Drizzy’s journey, his humble origins, and a proud proclamation that he’s not leaving the rap game any time soon.
