One of the realest quotes I remember from 50 Cent went something like, “I hustled my entire life to get out the hood. Why would I not celebrate the fact I actually did?” Harboring the same sentiment, Meek Mill affords us the first look into his forthcoming Dreamchasers 3 mixtape, the aptly titled “From Da Bottom.”
The record, in essence, is frustrating. The agitated, aggressive, and introspective Meek seen here was largely absent from Dreams & Nightmares. Helping add a level of vulnerability is the hook from Guordan expressing the fear of returning to a lifestyle whose only payday is the penitentiary or cemetery. Meek still has a point to prove, and he hasn’t forgot where he’s come from despite his current love affair with every Audemar watch known to man. That’s a good thing. A really good thing, actually.
