Yesterday, November 14, 2012 was a good day for Paris St. Germain’s supercilious Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Actually, everyday for Ibrahimovic is technically a phenomenally fantastic, best day ever! candidate. But that’s just because the guy’s making $14 million annually* and probably snorting lines of blow off the pink creases of a Parisian hooker’s snatch.
Anyways, yesterday was a good day for Ibra because a) Sweden defeated England 4-2 in a friendly, b) he tallied all four of those goals and c) that fourth goal was this over-the-back, bicycled scorcher from the bowels of the National Stadium, featured below. When asked about his act of God after the match, Zlatan reminded everyone that they’re not him: “When I saw that the goalkeeper was out I tried to put it against the goal, and luckily it went in. It’s both luck and skill.”
Luck and skill, people, luck and skill. That’s all it is. That’s also why Zlatan’s telling Steven Gerrard he should move to a “big foreign club” shouldn’t be met with laughter. Remember, skill gifts you all sorts of King Louis XIV-like things, like the ability to do and say whatever f*ck you feel like. Ask Zlatan. He knows.
