So the Crysis series hasn’t had the smoothest ride thus far. Crysis 1′s demanding PC specs spawned the “can it run Crysis?” meme and the actual game got lost in the conversation. Then the heads who enjoyed the first raged when Crysis 2 streamlined everything for its console debut. Now Crysis is back for the third time with shiny new multiplayer features for all youse guys.
If you play enough shooters you’ll notice most of the trailer’s new offerings have been done already. However, Crysis 3′s early case of execution in lieu of innovation might work to its benefit. The small 12 and 16 player caps on console and pc respectively is underwhelming but that hunter mode could be tons of fun. Stalking enemies with your bow gives off a Predator vibe that makes the mode look more realized than virus/infection with invisibility. Oh and hijacking anyone out of anything is hilarious Therefore, seeing someone rag doll after getting tossed from a hulking robot should provide plenty of laughs.
I got enough shooters on my plate but, if Crysis 3 shows more promise, I might make room for one more. Crysis 3 drops February 2013 on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
