Regardless if the art of the “music video” has been saturated to no end thanks to the Internet, every once and awhile one will drop that actually serves its purpose. It had been a few months since I last listened to Game’s The R.E.D. Album. Now, it looks like I’ll be forced to revisit the LP thanks to the recently liberated visual for “The City.” Jayceon and K-Dot put Los Angeles on their backs for the Matt Alonzo-directed short film proving Compton, Inglewood, Hollywood and another part of L.A. I’m forgetting at the moment will always run through their vein. The lyrics were harsh, yet razor sharp, but the pride both exude for the City of Angels is almost second to none.
This reminds me, too. Game may be a lot of things, and I mean a lot. That being said, dude can seriously get down on wax when he’s focused. And that acapella Kendrick spit towards the end was flawless. On a related note, a video for “Ricky” would be much appreciated.
