Iconic singer Whitney Houston has died at the age of 48 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, her publicist Kristen Foster confirmed to CNN. The shocker comes on the eve of music’s biggest night, the Grammys, now leading to the question of the hour: how exactly will they pay tribute to her? Houston’s public image for more than a decade has been associated with drug usage. No word yet on the cause of death, but during her life, the troubled and talented vocalist sold over 170 million albums and singles worldwide. Houston was scheduled to attend the Clive Davis party tonight, a staple of Grammy weekend.
R.I.P. to the best pure voice ever. This one hurts.
Bonus: DJ’s worldwide, spin this tonight.

Peace Whitney! :(
Damn.
RIP.
This hurts man , as an 80′s baby I grew up on Whitney. Fuck man……
Man I just listened to this the other day to get an idea of the chords. I never got around to trying it to play it by ear.

Now this joint sounds as sad as ever even though it’s still my favorite Whitney song. RIP.
The word superstar gets thrown around alot……Whitney without a doubt a superstar and one of the best voices in history….#RIP
She was the prototype.

Completely agree with this…smh.
Sad day yo.
RIP Whitney
It’s not right…but it’s okay
I just pray that she’s in a much better place now
R.I.P.
regardless, she’s a legend. her accomplishments will never be matched.
My family is very close to hers. We got the call and I hope the person whom was there and can tell it best (because she deserves that respect) will tell the story. Man, this one is tough.
RIP
I grew up on Whitney & the whole nine….she was the definition of a Pop Star/Diva. MTV was in love with her.
Kinda shocked this didn’t happen years ago.
R.I.P. Nippy
Such a beautiful soul. One of the greatest voices the world was ever blessed to hear. Enjoy you’re eternal life, Mrs. Houston. It’s always love for you.
Cry for crack babies an ppl who die of cancer not millionaires who through greed an hubris flush it all away. The sad thing is she had the talent to change lives an shape them an instead was messing with that tony montana
Her recent history has taken the polish off of her career just a lil & even though the cause of death has yet to be determined, I wouldn’t be surprised if Whitney’s addiction issues played a part in her own demise.
But you can’t undo her accomplishments. Whitney has done it all and received every award & accolade imaginable.
She was the truth.
Not this spill again
“R.I.P. to the best pure voice ever. This one hurts.”

This. To me, there was something about Houston that made me love her so much, but I’ve never been able to place a finger on until recently. Sure she was talented and brilliant, but I think it has more to do with the fact that I was raised on her music and watched her struggle with substance abuse while watching family struggle with the same issues. I even rooted for her and made excuses for her like she was family! I swear I would knock a fool out for talking foul about Ms. Houston back in the day. This one does hurt. R.I.P. to Ms. “Every Woman” Houston.
Her people did a good job keeping her addiction issues quiet for a long time. But the same thing that did Mike in, caught up to Whitney.
The people around them placed them so high on the pedestal, no one could tell them shit, even when they were being destructive to themselves.
That fame is stronger then heroin. Word to Sean Corey.
R.I.P. to a music legend. Gotta leave that YOWDY alone man
I listen to her all the time. SMH. RIP.
Word is Jennifer Hudson is gonna be involved in the Whitney tribute tomorrow night.
I got goosebumps already.
God bless the dead. So sad, I remember watching her sing the national anthem at the super bowl, literally gives me chills to this day.
Peace & blessings to Whitney’s family. Regardless of what her imperfections were in her private life she impacted people all over the World with her music positively. Cause of death is still unknown, but addiction is a serious disease; I’m sure if an addict were able to just snap their fingers and be cured…they would. I hope Whitney’s friends and family get their privacy and proper time to grieve and celebrate her life.
If the Grammy’s decide to do a tribute I just hope its done the right way.
Never was big on her stuff even though it was always on TV and Radio as a kid. So polished I couldn’t feel it I guess. Still unfortunate. When ODB died though, damn.
O_o
R.I.P. to the great
RIP i feel like crying smh
it’s fucked up
R.I.P. just think about how much role did Bobby Brown play in her downfall. I truly dislike bobby. I always thought he was just a destructive person to himself and evrybody
But Bobby is alive & Whitney isn’t and they’ve been divorced for a couple years now.
Bobby may have been a catalyst for her problems but Whitney was a grown woman.
Whitney was no saint. She had her demons in her own right
Yeah, blaming Bobby is a cop out. She was a grown ass woman who made the decisions she made. This doesn’t take anything away from her standing as the best female vocalist ever (IMO), but the truth is the truth.
Like Amp said, they’ve been divorced for a minute now.
