Jamaal Magloire’s Definitely Not The Guy To Have At The Line In The Clutch

By TSSCrew / 01.14.12

Last night, in the waning moments of a long, hard-fought contest, the Toronto Raptors found themselves trailing the Indiana Pacers by just three, 93-90. Their leading scorer and go-to player, Andrea Bargnani, was ailing on the bench, having missed the game because of a strained left calf. If the Raptors were going to pull off the upset, someone, anyone, would have to come up big.

Into the void stepped veteran center, Jamaal Magloire. With just 13.9 remaning, the one-time starter for the 2004 Eastern Conference All-Stars was fouled, earning himself two free-throws and a chance to cut the Pacer lead to one. The Toronto faithful were on the edge of their seats. There was electricity crackling throughout the Air Canada Centre.

And then, Magloire came up about two feet short of touching iron on his first attempt. Offer up a quick prayer for Raptor fans everywhere, folks. No fanbase deserves something like this.

The Pacers ended up winning 95-90.
