Obie’s Bottoms Up once appeared to be an urban legend, caught in a quagmire of label politics and Obie’s personal problems. But come February 28th (*cross fingers*), the album will be a reality at retail outlets. Splash mentions that he heard an early version way back in 2007 and seems convinced not much of the material has been changed over the years. And while it’s tempting to write the album off, I wouldn’t be so quick to do so, mostly because Saigon went through similar circumstances before finally releasing one of the last year’s best projects.
Pre-orders available now on Amazon.

Very random cover but this will probably definitely still be 1 of my first purchased albums of the new year! Obie is real underrated & I have a feeling this could end up being the Saigon route as you mentioned & being one of the best projects of the year despite all those delays if it’s as good as the tracks that I have heard so far that where supposed to be on it!
I’m pulling for Obie….got a feeling this is going to be a banger!!
got my fingers crossed for this album. I’m a little worried that the only track he’s released thus far was 6 years old, but maybe Obie will surprise us all.
then again, this cover also worries me. as Nello said, it seems totally random, and paired with the title, it seems like it’s supposed to be some kind of diaper changing metaphor…
I think it’s a reference to the way babies hold their bottles.
