I use to anticipate that How Fly 2 but I can’t listen to Wiz like I use to anymore… But spitta stays dropping project after project so I guess there’s no need for that mixtape anymore
However, you never know what they’ll cook up if they work together. Maybe having a creative force like Spitta in the studio with Wiz will bring out the old Khalifa. And, if it’s a mixtape, the wants and wishes of a major studio might also be absent.
I think we all need to chill for a bit about Wiz for a second. Only reason people pine for the “old” Wiz is because he hasn’t been able to match the two year run from 2008-2010. Yeah, Rolling Papers was pretty whack, but he also released Cabin Fever months before. Let’s see what his next mixtape looks like before we jump to any more conclusions.
I know you’re in that “old Wiz” camp. And it’s not so much the “run” he had because he had some good mixtapes before that as well. But it’s a pine for a sound that wasn’t “Roll Up” or such a blatant appeal to a completely casual listening audience.
He’s successful and no one can hate on him for that. However, from a (for lack of a better word) “traditionalist”‘s point of view, it’d be nice to see something that mirrored that How High tape or those Prince of the City tapes. Or even Cabin Fever, but that project was an anomaly.
I agree, it would be nice if they randomly dropped that How Fly 2 but I just can’t call myself a wiz fan anymore… If wizzle man’s next tape is like Cabin Fever then ehh
But I’m looking for that old PotC 2 and Star Power Wiz… But as of late the west coast has taken over my iPod (Dom, Black Hippy, Overdoz) so I really don’t complain much free music wise haha
ever since WTT (and was very succesful) dropped artists have been promising duo albums with their homies (I think T.I. even promised two) but I am holding very little faith in any of them. it takes enough work for one artist to put out an album with all the problems that come with that but multiply the problems by 2 and I doubt many will ever be actually made.
I hate when rappers promise stuff like this though.
Oh yeah – the Cee-Lo & Jack Splash record, they were going to call themselves The Heart Attack then they changed the name…anyone got any inside info on that they could share?
^ man…i have no info except to say they’re both really enigmatic and busy. You’re talking about two extremely talented and free-spirited dudes right there so getting them to match up and lock in on anything is challenging I suppose. Good call though.
They changed it to lovestink I believe. I know cee lo said the happy hour record wasn’t coming out due to label politics. Maybe the same thing happened to that.
Man, that Nas/AZ album is waaaaaaay overdue. Also, that Doom/Ghost collaboration was confirmed by Starks himself so where the fuck is it? Meanwhile, we get to be audibly treated to Gucci Mane & V-Nasty and as and added bonus French Montana & Waka Flocka. C’mon man…..
Doom is the producer, and Ghost is used to working with the RZA. That means Ghost essentially has no say in it, and its release will be entirely up to Doom.
i been listening to joi a lot this week. i would’ve like to heard her do a joint with screechy peachy, i thnik the atliens intro is the greatest of all time. raphael was all over her last two albums though. production wise.
Andre 3000 and Big Boi under the name OutKast were supposed to release an album in like 2006/2007. That shit never happened
————————————
*dead*….shoulda been on the list too, lol/smh
AHHHHHH, how didn’t talk about CRS (Children Rebel Soldier by Kanye Lupe and Pharrel, fuck utopia, call it heroine), i mean, Us Placers & Fucced up? man, us placers would probably had 5 digits plays on my itunes if i still had my old computers.
You’re right he did – there was 2 songs that surfaced from that project; “Right Now” and “Gangsta Boogie”. Plus the two of them did a track with Estelle “Pretty Please (Love Me)” and to be honest if they made a whole album of tracks that sounded as good as those three it would be an all time classic.
Yeah I thought UMC had some dope songs on it too. I think Common should of just released like an EP in the summer, like it originally was planned as instead of turning it into a full LP.
as much utpia it would have been im sik of talkin bout nas & az lp…. AGAIN. i think it wouldnt do well know because its been in the talk of the street for so long it would b imposssible for two musicians to make that good of music for their fans…..lol been dope at turn of century tho!!
The reported nature of that project has varied a lot over time. It started off as a mixtape, but has also been talked about as an album. Over time they also said that Cole would mostly be producing it and would only be rapping on a few songs. They’ve both been asked about it recently and said that they were both too busy for it to come out anytime soon.
After hearing HiiiPower though, I’ll wait until my deathbed if I have to.
We should’ve put a bone twista album on here. I know it was talked about and was always somwthing I wanted to hear. May not be the best now,but there’d def be some heat
All my fellow No Limit fans forgot about the Original 504 Boyz album when it was Master P, Mystikal, & Silk Da Shocker…waited on that album for 3 years then P throw’s out that Bullshit album.
I won’t front, I can’t believe it was my shiz! But, I would say I would rather have that Weezy/Juelz collab. The Dedication mixtapes and all things Dipset was the soundtrack to my freshman year in college.
Yeah… he’s the first artist to get skipped on my iTunes now but Wayne circa 2004-2007 was nothing short of incredible. I still remember playing his verses off of “Hollywood Divorce” & the “Knuck If You Buck Freestyle” to skeptics and getting the inevitable “damn, he spitting like that now” response. Now it’s hardly believable this is the same guy that once said “call me young Raekwon. I’m a chef in hell’s kitchen.” Wayne’s mixtapes actually got me through my last 2 years of college. I’m not afraid to admit it.
Late to the TSS Party but 10. Dr. Dre & Ice Cube – Heltah Skeltah
Man… I was GEEKED like a dope fiend when this promise was made. I used to take these long late night/early morning drives back from the studio to home listening to the Murder Was the Case soundtrack.
That was an incredibly dope body of work. I could listen to it from beginning to end too. Whatever happened to albums like that?
Don’t forget about the Golden State Warriors project with Ras Kass, Saafir, and Xzibit.
I use to anticipate that How Fly 2 but I can’t listen to Wiz like I use to anymore… But spitta stays dropping project after project so I guess there’s no need for that mixtape anymore
^ Ditto.
However, you never know what they’ll cook up if they work together. Maybe having a creative force like Spitta in the studio with Wiz will bring out the old Khalifa. And, if it’s a mixtape, the wants and wishes of a major studio might also be absent.

^^^
I apologize for that sentence.
@AJ

we need to chill about wiz? haha, fuck, is he your girlfriend? fuck wiz, something i hate more than bad, is good gone bad.
I have no respect for Atlantic as a label. I don’t think Rolling Papers is their fault though. Have you ever heard Deal or No Deal?
@Ryan J
& sorry for the double comment this Evo sucks…
Heltah Skeltah! Been waiting for 17 or 18 years for that one…
Can I add these rumoured but ultimately fruitless collaborations:
Flying Lotus & Madlib
Ill Bill & Sean Price
Killer Mike & El-P
Black Thought & Dangermouse
and I thought the Ghostface & MF Doom had been greenlit to appear as “DoomStarks” as recently as July 2011?
“Killer Mike & El-P”
That one right there is far from fruitless. It’s finished and incredible…no concrete release date but you won’t have to wait too long……
The FlyLo/Madlib pairing would be Adult Swim’s soundtrack for the next decade. They’d loop that shit every night from 11 p.m. until 3 a.m.
@Trackstar
Are you serious? That’s great news. Glad to see that link up hasn’t been forgotten about…
not forgotten about at all….I’ve listened to it damn near daily for the last two months, I think it’s even better than I would have expected…
R.A.P. Music all day.
Outkast and Goodie Mobb? I could’ve swore I heard about it.
Considering how many collabo projects have turned out…
… these might just be better as fantasy.
Really good point !
The four horsemen
lmao @ Track. Just spilled the beans all over the goddamn floor.
LMFAO!!! Horrible
So I guess that was supposed to stay under wraps?
YOLO…..lol
lmao what? it’s not supposed to stay under any wraps. they’ve BEEN talking about it….not a secret.

Yeah. Tip’s said he has albums coming with Bob and Jeezy, I’d be surprised if we saw either.
The dungeon family/wu-tang album
Dpg-unit
Cee-lo and jazze pha (you know you liked happy hour)
Big boi/killer mike/pill (haven’t lost hope yet)
yeah Pill has been saying since he is basically in limbo right now he will be workin on that one..
Man, I want that last album so bad. Big and Killer are all-time greats, and Pill before he was signed was a force.
Cee-Lo’s single “I Want You” from The Lady Killer was written and produced during The Heart Attack sessions
They changed it to lovestink I believe. I know cee lo said the happy hour record wasn’t coming out due to label politics. Maybe the same thing happened to that.
Yall remember the Cee-Lo & Jazze Pha album that never came to fruition?
Somebody just mentioned 2pac and Boot Camp Click for the One Nation Album.

I would’ve liked to have seen beanie, jay & scarface and jay, ja, x & jay collabs..
what about Oh My God with Rakim and Dr. Dre? also Pharrell said on Down With The King that he and T.I. were doing a record called ‘The World Is Yours”
Andre 3000 and Big Boi under the name OutKast were supposed to release an album in like 2006/2007. That shit never happened
I was looking forward to that H album though and I need that Bugatti Boyz cuz all they gone be doing is talking hella shit.
2Pac and Snoop Dogg were supposed to knock all that out….didn’t happen.
Erykah Badu & Joi were supposed to release an album…or so the rumor goes. That would’ve been the greatest shit I ever heard bar none.
While we’re on that….Lucy Pearl was supposed to release with Joi as the lead….Raphael & Joi would’ve been the second greatest shit I ever heard.
Freddie Gibbs & Pill
“Andre 3000 and Big Boi under the name OutKast were supposed to release an album in like 2006/2007. That shit never happened”
lmao genius.
Yeah what u said about Outkast, was hilarious. LOL
i been listening to joi a lot this week. i would’ve like to heard her do a joint with screechy peachy, i thnik the atliens intro is the greatest of all time. raphael was all over her last two albums though. production wise.
“i thnik the atliens intro is the greatest of all time.”
this statement right here is pretty difficult to argue with
O_o
Good look on not putting the intended sequel to Madvillainy on here. I know Madvillainy 2 “dropped” but it was just remixes.
Andre 3000 and Big Boi under the name OutKast were supposed to release an album in like 2006/2007. That shit never happened

*dead*….shoulda been on the list too, lol/smh

ja rule sucked thank freakin god it didnt happen!!!! i loved the other 2 way too much as mcs and that prob woulda screwed up my jay and dmx taste!
Ja Rule far from sucked during that time period.
ja had hits for days and actually was good from 99-02
no, no he wasn’t. Weakest link
Weakest link doesn’t mean bad.
lil wayne and t-pain would be the most rediculous and egotistical fairytail, alien space carnival ever!!! LOL
Re: Cee-Lo and Jack – Didn’t Jack produce “Right Now” too? I could be wrong so feel free to correct me there.
You’re right he did – there was 2 songs that surfaced from that project; “Right Now” and “Gangsta Boogie”. Plus the two of them did a track with Estelle “Pretty Please (Love Me)” and to be honest if they made a whole album of tracks that sounded as good as those three it would be an all time classic.
now a biggie an jay album…… thats a musical record breaker!!!
After hearing Lasers and Universal Mind Control, I’m not that optimistic about the Lupe x P album. UMC did have some joints though.
Yeah I thought UMC had some dope songs on it too. I think Common should of just released like an EP in the summer, like it originally was planned as instead of turning it into a full LP.
as much utpia it would have been im sik of talkin bout nas & az lp…. AGAIN. i think it wouldnt do well know because its been in the talk of the street for so long it would b imposssible for two musicians to make that good of music for their fans…..lol been dope at turn of century tho!!
i think the time has passed for a cube dre album to be really dope…. now how bout a dre album wit alot of cube??? better
goodluck on any level to anybody wit doom……lmao a albel and managers headache!
Wasn’t there supposed to be a J. Cole/Kendrick Lamar mixtape or something?
The reported nature of that project has varied a lot over time. It started off as a mixtape, but has also been talked about as an album. How Fly 2 would be dope
We should’ve put a bone twista album on here. I know it was talked about and was always somwthing I wanted to hear. May not be the best now,but there’d def be some heat
Game X Weezy woulda been dope….shame all they came out with officially was a min snippet of “Lyrical Homicide”
but them 2 def got good chemistry together
All my fellow No Limit fans forgot about the Original 504 Boyz album when it was Master P, Mystikal, & Silk Da Shocker…waited on that album for 3 years then P throw’s out that Bullshit album.
Freddie Gibbs had one supposedly coming out with Madlib no?
http://smokingsection.uproxx.com/TSS/2011/11/on-freddie-gibbs-and-madlibs-thuggin-ep
Say what you will, but that T-Pain and Weezy album would’ve been hot.
I won’t front, I can’t believe it was my shiz! But, I would say I would rather have that Weezy/Juelz collab. The Dedication mixtapes and all things Dipset was the soundtrack to my freshman year in college.

*Disclaimer: Jewell’s songs got skipped
most depressing article yall ever wrote. Maaaaaan, broken dreams
Yes I have heard Deal or No Deal. (sorry, you asked.)
I concur! with your opinions on Atlantic.
However, I have to add, only because it is the song that made me a Wiz fan, that “This Plane” might be his best song… ever.
@Greed
P.S. why is your name Greed, just out of curiosity
Been meaning to say the COUNTRY CuZINS with Yelawolf and KRIT totally shouldve been on here. damn that wouldve been so hot!
Off topic: that Murder Inc. cover is still one of the hardest magazine covers ever.
Spitta and Wiz *plays Waiting by Jeezy”
i still wanna see that i can’t feel my face album
