Sensationalism and gossip are unbeatable parasites of headlines and attention grabbing. It’s a shame really, considering there are parallel opposites out there doing as much good as they do in irritation. Take The League of Young Voters for example. They work continuously to ensure that our children remain our future even in the dimming light of empty promises made by politicians and crumbling education system in the public schools. 2011 was another stellar year for The League and they have the footage to prove it. Unlike most record labels these days, they use the power of Hip-Hop for good, evidenced by the contributions made by the likes of Dee-1, AllHipHop.com and Mac Miller.
Hats off to Rob “Biko” Baker and the rest of team for their unheralded efforts! To support the movement, visit YoungVoter.org. Every penny counts towards upward success.
