Only an internal email between our staff could lead a Sanford & Son picture being related to the title track from DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince’s 1987 debut, Rock The House, a song featuring oft-forgotten group member Ready Rock C. Don’t see or hear the relationship? Skip to the 2:15 mark.
Fairly certain I’m one of the few old enough to even remember such unimportant bits of Hip-Hop folklore.

My favorite joint from the philly kids…
Never heard this before. Dope. Ready Rock C kilt that shit.
Underwater even lol.
people forget that Will could actually rap back then lol
@Gotty – He just made really good fun music back then for everyone. Do you think if he started rapping again people will be acceptable of his music like back then?
^ hell naw lol. he’s way too far gone.
I bet he’s still got a dope delivery though, which trumps a lot of cats rapping right now.
I mean, he is loved by many so I think Will can drop something and have the people going wild…Plus there’s always ghostwriters lol.
“people forget that Will could actually rap back then lol”
Exactly what I was about to say. If you were to listen to “Girls of the World Aint Nothin But Trouble” you could be easily convinced that it was Slick Rick and not Will Smith.
And while “Summertime” is typically number one on everyone’s list, I have to give it to “Brand New Funk.” Will’s second verse is the ish.
