With 2012 fast approaching, Rochelle Jordan finds herself near the top of my personal lists of artists I expect to make noteworthy strides over the next twelve months. The lovely Toronto songstress, still living off the success of her free LP, R O J O, is already planning the follow-up, R O J O II, come March. And thanks to Jordan, wait no longer for the first peak into the project. “Here I Go” sees Rochelle continue to lay the groundwork for her brand of music that continually offers flashback to the earlier days of R&B. The production from Busy is Hip Hop enough to keep the interests of those not necessarily open to rhythm and blues, and RoJo’s buttery voice is enough to convince anyone to give the track a full and honest listen.
Speaking of R2, my only hope is that Rochelle features a nice amount of ballads. The purity of her voice allows me to gravitate to most anything she does, but when she slows it down, she has me at “hello.” Tell a friend to tell a friend about Rochelle. It’s only a matter of time before the masses catch on. And I, for one, can’t wait to say “I told you so.”
Hi, Rochelle (*Royce Da 5’9 “Hi, Rihanna” voice*).
