We see Mike Tyson as a lovable guy nowadays. Twenty-five years ago November 22, however, he was the baddest man on the planet who made boxing history after making quick work of Trevor Berbick to become the youngest heavyweight champion of all time. Iron Mike’s place in boxing history, more so sports as a whole, is set in stone, but it leaves perplexing questions. How differently would his career have panned out had he never gone to prison? Better yet, what happens if the loss to Buster Douglas never takes place? And how much more dominate could he have been if he remained focused following Cus D’Amato’s passing and kept himself in a vacuum as opposed to get swallowed by the fast life?
Ponder those and get back to me. In the meantime, just know a “Mike Tyson’s best knockouts” video never gets old.
