“Don’t call it a comeback, I was home anyway.” Forget the lines at Wal-Mart, here’s something many of you have already been waiting a decade for. The new Black Star single, anyone? And, howabout we add that it’s produced by Madlib? Yeah, that’s what I thought.
Debuted live last month on The Colbert Report, “Fix Up” finds Mr. Kweli and the artist formerly known as Mos Def deflecting substandard acts and rehashing a relationship built on educating listeners, both of which compliment Quasimoto’s hazy harmonics and chopped-up riffs perfectly.
The album still doesn’t have a title or release date, but this should hold us over at least until the end of the month. Which isn’t very long, so they better figure that sh*t out.
Black Star – “Fix Up” (Prod. By Madlib)

this album = Detox = another Outkast album= beleive em when i see em = not as excited as once was
Madlib’s been pretty busy lately
I have been secretly hoping that Madlib will replace Hi-Tek and do the whole album. That would be a wet dream! Madlib’s albums are so cohesive… Stoney Jackson, Madvillainy, Liberation, OJ Simpson (minus the interludes!).. all fantastic…
@Grand- Why is this anything like Detox? They’ve always just said they’ll probably do another album sometime. Dre on the other hand has constantly said he is working on Detox.
They have also been putting together tracks for some time now. “Bright As Stars” 2000, “Supreme Supreme” 2005 in those years people expected a new Black Star album same way people expected a “Detox.” The comparison isnt who said when what was coming out but the anticipation for a follow up. “A rose by any other name…..”
song is dope but i’m not calling mos yasiin
There’s another Black Star track just dropped called “You Already Knew” produced by Oh No – supposedly from a forthcoming Black Star project called “Black Star Aretha”. It’s fantastic, probably better than this one…
