There’s one thing the world always needs more of and that’s good music to spin at family functions. Those cuts that get everyone dancing, talking and laughing so you can slip in some current tunes without catching a side eye from the elders. With “Do To Me,” New Orleans native Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue channels the great vibes of music from the ’80s without the cheesiness that lingers nowadays from those keyboard riffs. “Do To Me” serves as the lead single for his latest album, For True, which released back in September. The only bad thing about this song is I’ll have to wait until next summer to throw it in the reunion/BBQ playlist.

As a native New Orlean-ian, seeing trombone shorty on my favorite rap blog just does something to warm my soul… this is as New Orleans as hot sausage sandwiches, pineapple big shot, spicy crawdad zapps potato chips, and po-boys at we never close…. I am a happy man
had no idea about the new album, trombone shorty goes.
This just warmed my soul.
