Believe it or not, Ya Boy didn’t get signed to Akon’s newly-renamed Kon Live Records for his ability to drop intricate hip-hop records. Nope, as an artist known more for catering his craft towards music that makes money, the Bay Area warrior got inked up because he’s supposed to make crossover records that girls love and guys pretend to hate. And, in the midst of formulating his major label debut, your Boy linked up with our pal DJ Burn One for “How Ya Feel,” a low-key sizzler built specifically to ease over any old flames that might’ve forgot how the former Black Wallstreet affiliate does.
It might not be how you feel, but your girl should find solace in the chill.

Man as a Bay Area man myself, I want dude to won. That said, I haven’t fucked with his music since before he started with all that rockstar shit. He was ill from 04-08. I’m not sure what happened. He can spit, but the people he fucks with aren’t getting him anywhere. He shoulda dropped an album back in 07 because that was the peak of his buzz.
His best stuff was 16′s Wit Me and the album Rookie of the Year. Almost everything since then has sounded generic to me.
^
Yup, that 16s wit me track was too ill. I think he should have stuck with San Quinn on Done Deal Ent.
Yeah. I liked him much better when he was rocking with San Quinn..
DJ Burn One laced him with this though.
That beat was nasty
I agree with everyone here. That Rookie Of The Yr joint was dope and maybe his best. BUT…that album and 4 YRs of quality still won’t equal one proper hit outta his deal with Akon. That’s all he needs. IMO…. His problem is that is radio records are too generic topic wise. He needs to branch out if he wants to stand out. Too many rockstars and not enough hitmakers
