Killer Mike, Thurz & Aleon Craft – “Bitches & Drugs” (Produced By Royal Flush)

By Raj / 10.30.11

When you have 100+ artists packed in one venue at a festival like A3C, chances are they’re going to mingle and chop it up. New relationships are born, and collaborations, that otherwise probably wouldn’t happen, come about. One such occurrence, at the legendary Stankonia studios, has LA’s Thurz pairing up with ATL hosts Killer Mike and Aleon Craft for the track “Bitches and Drugs.” The title alone is actually a pretty good summary of the weekend because between the strippers at Magic City and the weed at the Masquerade, that’s pretty much what went down for those three days.

Festivities aside, work was done behind the scenes and away from the peering eyes of fans and cameras. SMKA and Royal Flush held the previously mentioned and aptly-titled Stankonia Sessions and “Bitches & Drugs” manifests as one of the fruits of their labor. On the track, Royal Flush’s syncopated production sets the stage for the three MCs to extol virtues of “dope, money, bitches, cars” and the sounds work quite well for Thurz, whose raspy voice and elegant flow sound at home alongside all of his newfound Atlanta friends.
