After years of false starts and fake rumors, everyone’s favorite cult classic, Arrested Development, will finally be back for one last run, according to the show’s creator Mitch Hurwitz and cast during a reunion Sunday at the New York Festival. CEO Michael Bluth, his retard brother Buster and the unfortunate wordplay of ana lrapist Tobias Funke (I just blue myself) return for another half season that supposedly ties into what will be a feature film based on the show. It comes at a very opportune time because The Office won’t last much longer now that Steve Carrell has moved on, and besides Parks and Recreation and Modern Family, there aren’t a great deal of decent comedies on TV right now. And lord knows I’d give an arm (but not my right one) and a leg to see Portia de Rossi back on the big screen.
Also, here’s a quick refresher to start de-cobwebbing the Arrested Development parts of your brains.

Great news. Never understood why the show didn’t fare well while on tv. But I am constantly watching this on Netflix.
**** YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
tight, hopefully this actually happens, unlike the movie
Cool. People always told me how good this show was. It was off tv by the time I started to check for it.
Breaking Bad, though>>>>
Hopefully it gets into gear and doesn’t do like when Futurama first came back on Comedy Central. This past season was great but it seemed like they were trying to shake off the cobwebs on the one before. Good luck to AR though.
this show was too ahead of its time, now most comedys dont have laugh tracks and are shot in the same way
fuck yeah, this is my favorite comedy series ever. I’ve seen the first 3 seasons like 6 times already and I’m still picking up jokes…that shit is layered. I was already thinking they should release the movie because their fan base alone would go see the movie multiple times to catch all the jokes. But this is even better news!
I’ll believe it when they announce who is airing it.
The Office is going to be around for several more seasons, I assure you. The benefit of an ensemble comedy is you can lose one person and the show can still go on.
Also, network comedy is probably stronger that it has ever been right now due to the rise of ensemble comedies (something Arrested Development is responsible for.) Parks & Rec, The Office, Community, Modern Family, & 30 Rock are all going strong.
Huzzah! (one for the diehards)
There’s a new daddy in town…a discipline daddy!
GOB >>>>>>
I watch this show over and over like it’s my religion, I honestly think it’s about the most perfect thing ever.
good news, but like Greed said, i’ll believe it when i see it…this show is like the detox of TV…
This the type of shit that will make a niggas day… but how you gonna mention great comedies and not mention the best show on television?? Community is whats keeping my thursdays positive
yesssssssssssssssssssssss
I still watch it daily on IFC. One of the best shows of the 00′s (easily). I think it was too clever for people that like dumb and easy humor. That was its downfall (almost like Family Guy – canceled and then came back with a bang). You have to be smart to understand this brand of comedy.
@TRA
But you don’t have to be smart to get Family Guy–at least not all of the pop culture allusions.
Is this relly going to happen with D.Cross and W, Arnett both doing “The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret” and Arnett is also doing “Up all Night”.
Oh and if you like comedies check out “The League” on FX
Second the recommendation of The League. I think the fantasy football theme of the show stops people from even getting it a try. It’s better than half of the shows I listed above and it’s mostly just general humor. Knowledge of the NFL or fantasy football is not necessary.
@Ryan
For the most part. But I have witnessed some people not laugh at the funniest Family Guy jokes because it went straight over their heads (many times). It is definitely comedy with intelligence – i.e. various historical references – even when it comes to old Hollywood.
I am going to have to check out The League. I love football… but more than that, TSS has never steered me wrong when it comes to shows.
There’s an episode of The League with a De La Soul reference. It’s one of the best episodes of the show anyway, but that just puts it over the top. The whole first season is on Netflix, and I believe there are some episodes up on Hulu.
@Greed
Cool. I have Netflix. I have been meaning to check it out.
Greed is absolutely right, my wife and the wive’s of some of my friends who don’t really like football have all sat down to watch it and coming away laughing. If you don’t like that show you probably have Dreids, and your S/O is uglier then a Klumberg.
