Childish Gambino lets loose “All The Shine,” which is set to be the second single from his upcoming Camp album. Even though we’re accustomed to seeing and hearing Gambino in full Community character, he strips down to the bare essentials on “Shine,” explaining why his regular guy approach is scoring fans with each song, each show. According to Gambino, honesty seems to be the key ingredient to his musical success as more folks can relate to awkwardness than dreams of selling ki’s. Yes, regular guy rap works.
Below, Gambino tells MTV how Camp is his favorite body of work yet then shares how the album will tell a full narrative and how he hopes to create something as strong as Biggie’s album Life After Death. Pretty lofty goals but he’s been nothing but successful thus far so we find it hard to doubt him. We’ll know for sure on November 15th when the highly anticipated drops on November 15th via Glassnote Records.
