For years, it’s always been “Joe Budden Featuring Emanny.” This time around Regular Joe decided to play wingman on Emanny’s self-analyzing track, “I Messed Up.” With such a title, one would think Budden would have more than enough topics to lace his crooning partner in crime with. The early missteps in his career, the women troubles, the drug abuse and did I mention the women troubles? The slow brooding track is polished with Emanny’s own admittance of falling for a woman he probably had no business doing so with. And Joey? He’s in the same boat, albeit his admission was a tad bit more vivid as he waxes poetics of falling in love with a jumpoff.
No clue who he’s talking about seeing as how he’s linked to a new one every week, but it is enjoyable to hear Joey’s demons still allow him to tap into that dark place unique to only his music.
