Long before Dallas handed the Jets their first win of the season on a silver platter, my first loss of the weekend came approximately 72 hours earlier upon hearing Kevin Hart’s Laugh At My Pain would only be released in limited theaters. And of course, not a single one was in driving distance from yours truly. Despite limited access, the filmed tallied impressive numbers. Two million dollars in 97 theaters were the figures meaning LAMP did $20,619 per screen.
It doesn’t stop there for Hart. These stats place Kevin in elite company. Not since Martin Lawrence’s Runteldat in 2002 has a concert series seen success like this and the first film since Chicago to debut with over $2M. Much of Hart’s rise to present day super-comedian status has been credited to personal brand marketing via outlets like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and more. For those inquiring, the film will expand to an additional 58 theaters this Friday.

he needs to rehearse his material a little more some of his rambling ass stories aren’t as funny as he thinks they are.

kevin hart is the “new” black comedian soo basically he is a monopoly within the black community…that is why i think many ppl find him remotely funny. For example, Kevin is like that popular dude in high school who tells “jokes” and the ppl start laughing not because its funny..is that he is the “popular kid”;But IMO i think he is okay not that funny to me (some of his material makes me chuckle here and there)…he is the katt williams of right now(less funnier and before katt fucked up his career)and to add on that he has strong supportive fans.

Word. I watched his standup a while ago w/no expectations. Was literally flipping channels and stayed b/c dude was doing great.
lol Man, don’t even get me started on the Cowboys. Folks in Dallas right now is trying to rationalize the loss; one dude told mewe “gave it (the victory) to them because of 9/11.” Then everyone just blames Tony Romo and calls it a day.
As far as Kevin Hart is concerned, he’s OK. I think his stand up is better than his movies; I want to forget I ever watched “Something Like A Business.” I knew it was going to be bad, but god damn it was horrible. I’d rather watch a “Hot Boyz” marathon than watch that movie again.

Kevin Hart is a good comic relief addition actor (i.e. Paper Soldiers, The Real Husband of…) but he’s not exactly my choice as a main dish…

He’s gradually gotten better when it comes to stand-up. I remember when Comedy Central used to run his comedy club show a few years back and it was hit and miss. Then he had a few more specials on CC and got more and more consistent.
He broke thru for me on the Shaq All-Star Comedy DVD. He had me rollin from start to finish and now he;s the black comic for right now. And yeah, it really is only one of those every few years lolsmh.

Chocolate Drop is about the only funny thing that this dude has done. He tries too hard to be funny, kind of weak.
