The goal was to go for characters that aren’t normally mentioned. Everyone loves Bruh Man. And shame on the dude who said Varnell didn’t belong on the list lol.
Speaking of the episode when Bruh Man took Martin CD player, when
Martin acted out the New Jack City scene with fake dog…LMAO!!
Varnill himself is nothing spectacular. Martin made those episodes. I understand about bruh man, but that gay dude still needs to be up there. “You so almondy” lmao that dude is hilarious.

That damn “pick up the pieeecessss..just pick up the pieeecessss” lmfao.
But yo..I can’t believe there’s no love for Elroy the mechanic lol. Once a week I find myself singing “don’t you know no gooooood…don’t you know no goooood” to the unsuspected lol.
As for Ms Jerry.. she passed about 15 years ago :-(

Hustle Man was that dude, when he tried to sell Gina some flowers when they were on a stakeout! The omission of Bruh Man is one thing but no Jerome? Look at the white shoes Jerome?!
And Varnell should be up there for that Jodeci scene alone.

That last season was a sham. Martin & Gina were in prolly 4 scenes together max. And there were a couple of episodes dedicated to spinning Pam off into her own show.
Never really figured out what was up with that sexual harassment suit Tisha filed against Martin. I heard it was bigus & a ploy used when her contract negotiations didn’t go as she planned.
Weirdest shit was Martin though. Dude looked smacked that entire final season. His eyes were tight as Jet Li’s every episode. He musta been on that Ooh Wee heavy.
I thought the quality of the show went down when all the regular cast members started acting like Martin. It was still funny but it seemed like they were running the same jokes into the ground.
Still a classic television show and with Martin doing everything but operating the camera, it’s a testament to that guy’s creativity & comic genius.
I’ve seen every episode of Martin 10 times & whenever I catch it, I still feel compelled to watch & I still laugh at every gag.

I’m being serious however. Why this character was not used more often is one of the few lingering questions I’ll always have about Martin’s five year run.

Okay, the Conspiracy Brotha in me (word to Undercover Brotha) leads me to believe that this character could have initiated a wildly popular trend in TVland/Hollywood where black comedians/entertainers shine a light on the less than flattering aspects of white male culture, thus making those who run Hollywood less than excited if you catch my drift.
To the best of my knowledge White Bob was the first time I ever saw a black man on TV portrait a white man like folk were doing in the comfort of their homes. I thought it was genius, not to mention insanely hilarious. Only other to do it as well or better was Chappelle in his Trading Spouses episode!

What made the Vernell Hill episodes so funny were that Vernell was based on Arsenio Hall. Appparently Martin felt Arsenio tried to play him out and Martin went at him with the Vernell 2 parter.
