Football’s back and not many people are more ecstatic than myself. However, basketball is still near and dear to my heart and of equal importance. And with the way this NBA lockout is looking, these summer leagues and overseas highlights are going to be closest I get to any Association basketball for a minute. Those keeping up with the offseason know the Goodman and Drew Leagues have been the talk of the season featuring appearances by Kevin Durant, LeBron James, John Wall, Tyreke Evans and more.

Speaking of Wall, his one man traveling circus of summer theatrics continued as he had crowds at the Melo Center in Baltimore going ape sh*t. Not really much to note here other than the fact the venue looked packed and hung on every move and word the former #1 pick made and said. That and he caught a defender with a rather simple crossover that left buddy picking his body and pride up off the hardwood.

P.S. – For those in the D.C. area on August 20, the Goodman League All Stars (East Coast) take on their counterparts in the Drew League (West Coast) in what I’m billing as the summer league Super Bowl. Durant, Wall, Ty Lawson, Mike Beasley, Demarcus Cousins, James Harden, Demar DeRozen, Brandon Jennings and more are all expected to suits up. Those not able to make it can catch the game streaming here. Myself, on the other hand, will have to make a trip up I-95.
