At its very core, music is intended to evoke emotions, regardless of the artist who produces the songs. Kirko Bangz’s new single “Drank In My Cup” has the makings of a track perfect for night time open highway missions with the window half way down. Nevermind the fact Bangz’s output to date has yet to really trigger any type of personal response. This ode to the sweeter side of life with the devil’s nectar in the veins is tough and right down my alley the next time pre-gaming for an evening’s festivities takes place.

His rapping/singing hybrid method is suitable for the song’s intended purpose and setting. When in a social atmosphere with loud music and free flowing liquor, the last thing you’re worried about is some intricate rhyme scheme with the world’s greatest metaphors. All that matters is that the music acts as buffer to the energy. Such is the case here.
