Since exploding at midnight on Monday, Watch the Throne has been Hip-Hop’s sole topic of conversation and now Jay-Z and Kanye add more fuel to the fire with the visuals to “Otis,” directed by Spike Jonze. The lavish sounding, money-flaunting track is a pretty spot-on representation of the album. I can practically see them both throwing stacks of C-notes into a blender and making a smoothie out of them, à la South Park.

In the last four days, just about everybody with a modem has expressed some sort of judgment on WTT, ranging from classic to hot garbage, but my own ears take me somewhere along the middle ground. And without starting a forest fire let me just briefly say that the resounding production definitely carries most of the album. However, it tends to ring a bit on the emptier side content-wise. Still, the album’s in the marinating phases for me so we’ll save the cancer sticks for another day.
