“Okay, I know that metaphor wasn’t great/but I’m man enough to admit it/and that sh*t makes me great.”
Actually it doesn’t. It makes you a bad rapper. Yes, knowing one’s limitations can be a strength, and I’m sure Russell W. is a man of great character, but he probably should leave the emceeing to the pros. Thankfully, G.I.’s Freddie Gibbs comes through with a much-needed assist on producer-turned-rapper, Russell W. Howard’s latest release “Hold On.” The Gary Gangsta does all of the heavy lifting here, while Russell and Z.A.Y. both respectively struggle to get their bars up. With “he did that?” inducing production credits on Jay-Z’s multiplatinum, Vol. 3…Life and Times, Russell is not without talent. However, based on this track, that talent lies solely behind the boards
Russell W. Feat. Freddie Gibbs & Z.A.Y. – “Hold On”

i fux wit it
It aint THAT bad, the beats sick.
I’d totally bump this in the ride.
You trippin. Russell W aint that bad. I’d bump this shit.
Its starts with, “Not that bad” and a year later, “Man, WTF IS DIS SHIT”
just a lil constructive criticism before the latter happens.
I listened for Freddie “Gangsta” Gibbs. Almost gave up..
^ ditto
A song where 66% of the rappers aren’t very good, is that bad, in my opinion. That being said, I think I’m a little disconcerted by the idea that “not that bad” is good enough for so many people these days. But hey, what’re you gonna do? *shrug life*
Freddie Gibbs is a great artist. Not everybody can do “Gangsta Rap” and still make great songs not involving the streets. I urge everybody to listen to more songs from him
Russell W. and Gibbs went hard – who the fuck is ZAY? he ruined it.
