Toro Y Moi – “Saturday Love”

By Ryan J. / 07.14.11

Call Toro Y Moi’s “Saturday Love” whatever you want: “chillwave,” “indie,” or “hipster baby-making music.” However, one thing’s for sure: the man behind the moniker, Chazwick Bundick, makes some of the snazziest synth tunes this side of the ’80s. The Columbia, South Carolina native stuffs his latest track, a cover of Alexander O’Neal and Cherelle’s original that’s full of quirky electronic sounds, while his high-pitch vocals hover gently above the beat. Fans of TYM won’t be disappointed. The song provides the perfect, funky continuation from his latest LP, Underneath the Pine.

Slated to appear on his upcoming EP, Freaking Out, “Saturday Love” is what it is: groovy.
