Mac Miller spent yesterday getting high, resting under a desk and then ending up in front of a camera to announce his new album title for the YouTube audience. All of that to come up with the title of…*drumroll* Blue Slide Park.
Does it make sense? “Doesn’t matter.”
But if you’re curious, one YouTube commenter stated, “Blue Slide Park, or known as Frick Park, is a park in Pittsburgh, where there is a playground for kids with all blue sh*t and all.” I imagine the recreation area has some significance to Mac like maybe he smoked his first joint there or saw his first nipples. Just guessing. We’ll wait on an extreme fan or 412 resident to come along and clarify things.
No official release date has been announced yet.

I can’t front, I like what the kid does and he has a certain respect for the music as a whole. You don’t get to see or hear all the time in his music but i hope that comes with age.

I’ve been slowly espousing this theory that rap is expanding. It’s not required that we all like the same thing. Rap has so many different flavors right now that I honestly don’t get mad at the idea of Mac or other artists having success w/o my full support or liking what they do. I have what i like. So maybe he’s just not your bag of tricks. because…

I can’t help but agree with gotty, rap is expanding and it’s not required that we all like the same thing. But listeners are always going to compare artists, and it is his fans that make me hate him. they gas it like he really is nice. he’s not. but he does entertain his fan base so u gotta respect it
IMO, people are quick to discredit Mac because, get this, he’s white and suburban. I’ll admit that hearing him laugh on his records and talk shit is kind of irksome, but shit, Wiz annoys me in the exact same way. KIDS and Best Day Ever have some great feel-good tracks; that’s pretty much his lane. Nothing too hard, but that’s why it works.
And yeah, his flow is pretty ‘meh’ lol.

I enjoy his music as it is, which is for me something easy-listenable, non-aggressive and without other motive than to entertain people in a light way. The kind of stuff i’ll be listening on a sunny day on my way to work on a bicycle like ahaha

Okay, so here’s what seems to always happen. I’ll hear a dope song from an artist and then I go to find more and I like about 75% of what I hear. Then one of my fellow hip hop head friends tells me how much the artist sucks and I have to defend him (“Naw, man. You gotta hear this song. He’s good. Wait til’ you hear this song.” etc.). Next, said artist proceeds to make himself and I look like complete jackasses everytime he opens his mouth. Smh…The story of my life, lol. Thank God for #Section.80.
i agree with those who enjoy some of his shit and take his material for what is is. nobody is claiming this guy is hip hop’s next savior or anything and his lyrics are pretty pedestrian but i can still bump it while blowin one in the whip every now and then. and that feature on 82-92 w/termanology was pretty dope.
sorta on topic, if we’re comparing goofy looking white guys though, i’d take grieves over this guy anyday. that new together/apart album is nice.
