Wayne shouldn’t have to apologize to fans and critics but he’s chooses to with the title of his Sorry 4 The Waitmixtape. Yeah, the prison thing slowed his roll of sorts but he’s come back and been extremely active. Dedicated to his supporters, Sorry… is Wayne’s first full release since exiting jail and I’ve already peeped a few psuedo “reviews” ranging from lukewarm to bad receptions.
Yes, I say psuedo because if the tape just dropped only a few hours ago, how much authentic listening and “reviewing” could be completed? If I was an artist, I’d go on a Freddie Gibbs-style rant every few weeks and disparage anyone who reviewed my material within 72 hours of the leak/release. Switching sides, these reviews for Sorry… probably hold some accuracy because I find it hard to think an artist gave a sh*t about a project if there’s no back cover included in the zip. Or maybe the internuts won and snuck this one from out of Wayne’s backpocket a little early and we’ll get a back cover & official tracklisting later. If so, we’ll update. I really wish those Empire dudes were still around and stealing Wayne’s tapes because at least then I knew when the tape was the official version.
The last mixtape from Weezy, No Ceilings, adopted a similar format, featuring jackin’ beats and exercising in rhyme and the old Lil one ravaged each track. Sorry… looks much the same, at least in the vein that it’s Weezy, all other folks’ beats and few features. Whether it is actually good or bad remains to be seen but I’ll wager that it trumps his current batch of croaking masked as singing on “How To Love.” They’re playing the hell out of that on radio as if the repetition will win folks over. Didn’t work for Bey and I don’t think it’s gonna help “How To…” either.

That Adele beat aside, I’m sick of the mixtape full of “freestyles” done over beats I’ve heard 1,000 times. That shit worked during Weezy’s last mixtape run, but there are dudes putting out solid albums with nothing but original material for free now. It’s just lazy, dudes need to step their game up.

im not a hater ive been listenin to wayne since the hot boyz but my honest opinion bout this tape i think its weak the random punchline flow is gettin old to me cause as far as lyricly its equally as weak as the otha mixtapes but it was in style at the time but ima still fuck da c4 tho i only can listen to weezy on features and albums it all freestyle but its jus mo substance wen its not on mixtape but yall love it tho dats y he does it. its jus propaganda and gimmicks
