Hailing from the Peach State, G-Roc holds it down daily as the head honcho as the head honcho at The Shoe Game. And we really do mean holding things downs because when he’s not helping chronicle DJ Greg Street’s massive shoe collection or interviewing Jordan Brand’s Gentry Humphrey, he’s giving updated, precise information regarding the latest in footwear. All in a day’s work for G as he shares his picks for our Summer Madness series.
1. Cincy Sneaker Showcase — I’m looking forward to kicking it with my Cincinnati sneaker family, as well as meeting some TSG readers for the first time. In addition to the Cincy Sneaker Showcase, my good friend Matt (owner of Corporate) is having a grand opening for his brand new retail location. I’m so excited, word to The Pointer Sisters! (Link)
2. The Pool — I gained a little weight last year and EVERYONE felt the need to let me know that I picked up a few pounds. At first it was cool, but then I looked at the body in the mirror and I was not pleased with what I saw. I decided to take my talents to the pool, with hopes of losing the extra weight. The plan worked, but then I got hooked, and went swimming darn near everyday, last summer. So yeah, this summer I’m back on my swim grind. Oh yeah, my friends and family call me “Aquaman.”
3. House of Hoops Atlanta — I’ve been hearing my fellow ATLiens whine for years about Atlanta not having a House of Hoops store. Foot Locker is finally opening its first HOH in ATL this summer. I more excited for others, rather than for myself. Hopefully this new retail experience is everything people have dreamed of and more. In my best Bart Scott voice, CAN’T WAIT! (Link)
4. MENtality 2011 Men’s Conference — World Changers International, located in College Park, GA, is having a men’s conference in June 2011 called MENtality. My pastor, Pastor Creflo Dollar and a few others will impart wisdom on various topics, relating to men. The tagline is “Men Who Win,” with the goal being to help men change the way they think since all men know we can have a jacked up way of thinking sometimes. The speakers at the conference includes Creflo Dollar, Michael Smith and Reginald Ezell. Now if you’re familiar with those names, you already know there’s going to be some awesome teaching during this conference. Fellas, if you live in the Atlanta area, you definitely need to be in attendance. (Link)
5. Special Air Jordan 5 Retro — I can’t say too much at this point, but God knows I’m looking forward to getting my pair. Crazy thing is, I haven’t even seen the shoe yet, but that’s the main reason I’m soooooooo hyped. (Link)

Man, I’m so salty I have plans for tomorrow already but I’m trying to finagle a way to get down to Cincy tomorrow.
