The pride and joy of North Memphis, Project Pat, returns to the rap game with his new album Loud Pack on July 19, his first since 2009′s Real Recognize Real. To kick things off in their most natural of ways, Pat tags frequent co-conspirators DJ Paul and Juicy J to handle the work behind the boards while he delivers in only a way Pat can. At this point, I’m not even expecting to hear the anthems and cult classics they generated back when I was in high school. I’m not expecting pure recycle bin material either, but times changes and at least these guys are still making music together. Consistency is a rarity in the music industry.
In the meantime, revisiting Ghetty Green and Mista Don’t Play have just jumped up a few notches on my priority list. Pre-order Pat’s new album here.

After those, get into Project Pat’s work. “Ghetty Green” and “Mista Don’t Play” go super-hard. Now that I think about it, I need to go re-cop both of those.
What happened to his voice? His signature style is what separated him from the rest of the generic southern rappers. I’m disappointed.
World Domination is the perfect introduction to their classic style but my fav’s are:
Mystic Stylez
The End
Chpt. 2 WD
Kings of Memphis
DJ Paul’s Vol. 16 (1994 version)
