FX has boasted one of television’s strongest stables of comedy for a minute: It’s Always Sunny In Phildalephia is far and away the funniest show on television, Archer gives it a damn good run for its money and, while I haven’t seen more than an episode or two, everybody in the know seems to be in love with Louie. The network’s latest project, Willfred, appears to fall right in line, potentially one-upping the aforementioned series’ penchant for original, off-beat, oftentimes dark humor.
Elijah Woods (Lord of the Rings) stars as Ryan, a suicidal, mentally-unstable scrub that imagines his neighbor’s dog (the titular Wilfred) as a pot-smoking, alcoholic, foul-mouthed Australian man wearing a dog suit, played by series creator Jason Gann (the show previously ran in Australia, albeit with a different cast). Woods has to babysit him or some sh*t, and the two get into hilarious misadventures. Seriously, that’s the whole premise.
I really have no idea what to expect, but I’m all kinds of excited. FX is one of the few outlets on the dial willing to offer up new, original content; compared to shows like The Bachelor, Glee or any one of the interchangeable cop shows that dilute the airwaves, a show like Wilfred feels like a crisp cup of ice water on a humid summer day. Or a hit of LSD. And if I were a betting man, I’d wager strongly on a scene involving Ryan picking up Wilfred’s dog sh*t. Thinking about Elijah Woods picking up any kind of sh*t makes me extremely happy. Especially when an Australian heckles him for doing it.
Wilfred debuts on FX tonight at 10:00 P.M. For more info, visit Wilfred on Facebook.

I shall be giving this a gander.
anything F/X >
So Calvin and Hobbes in that Robot Chicken episode but with Elijah Wood?
ive seen the austrailian version of this. That version is more awkward than funny, and it was pretty slow. Im sure i will be dvr’ing this to see what its about.
Archer is def great but Parks & Recreation>> All
I shall be watching tonight as well. Been waiting for this.
(And yes, Always Sunny is one of the funniest shows on television)
Congratulations Elijah Wood! Your Facebook profile has just been inducted into the Museum of Orgasm Faces. http://brandedalive.com.
His name, dearest AJ, is Elijah WOOD.
I’ve been looking forward to this for the longest.
At last, some original television in the midst of this drought.
Yeah I’ve been waiting on this to drop too.
Speaking of television shows, has anybody seen Game of Thrones. It’s only 1 season deep but it’s hands down one of the best series in TV for a while. It’s not as slow starting as a lot of shows and every episode has been a pretty much Must See. You’ll thank me later.
Game of Thrones.

I’ve been excited about this ever since a Sneak Preview FX had back in January.
I don’t think anyone should expect this to be a laugh-out-loud comedy though. Shit looks pretty dark, which I’m cool with.
Calvin and Hobbes…..15 years later… except with a dog.

Didn’t know if I was the only one around here checking this out. I don’t think I’ve seen a show weave so many story lines together in such a short period of time successfully. Think the Wire in the Middle Ages.
*dodges rock*

Unfortunately just like a lot of our good shows, it’s not an original. It was actually Australian series. But it does seem like it will be on point.
Think the Wire in the Middle Ages.

LMAO. It does have a lot of stories going on at once. I was trying to explain what the series was to somebody at work the other day and it was crazy complicated. I had an easier time trying to explain what the Wire was about lol.

Read Pillars of the Earth if you have not already.
Modern Family >
@Cell©
GOT is supposed to be sick. Def gonna check it out once I’m 100% on Breaking Bad.
Yeah, Game of Thrones is seriously an all-timer. I don’t know if there’s every been a better first season of a drama.
Favorite show on TV might be Always Sunny.
Devito is the shit. They are killing it. They also had Sons of Anarchy as well.
Skinny Jeans episode and the episode where Dee switches lives with Charlie are classic. She over doses on the cat food and trips out.
I don’t know if there’s every been a better first season of a drama.

I usually don’t do All-Timers and Classics off the bat but I’m inclined to agree. Of all my favorite series, none of them have ever started this strong. Hopefully they can maintain.
@AJ- Take your time. I just found out today that they JUST started filming the 2nd season. So now I have no sports OR dramas to keep me stimulated.
I can’t watch game of thrones..sci-fi, fantasy, anything with dragons, swords and shit I can’t get into.
Did watch the original Aussie version of this show and it was dark as fuck. Hopefully this continues in the same vein.

Fam, those probably would have been my same words like a month ago. Only reason why I even initially watched it was because I was looking for a new series to watch after my 3rd stint of The Sopranos and it came highly reviewed. And actually, if you are a sci-fi/fantasy-head, you’ll probably think this is pretty tame because of how LITTLE of it there is. Like, not even 15 collective minutes during he whole season. It’s just flat out a good damn drama.
I am about to watch the entire season of Game of Thrones off your recommendation Cell©. Comcast is wack, but On Demand is perfect in this kind of situation. I can get caught up without investing in DVD/Blu-ray or downloading it to my computer. I will cop the DVDs if I like it (as I did with Entourage).
P.S. I did not know what to expect (AT ALL) with Wilfred… but it was actually very good IMO. Had me laughing throughout the entire episode!
Anyone got an air date for breaking bad season 4 premiere? That is truly the best drama since the wire.
