Before last week, I had never heard of Rochelle Jordan. After one song, however, I’m now on a hunt to uncover more material from the charming Toronto songstress. The press release states ’90′s R&B rank as a distinct influence on how she approaches music and it resonates through her own product. Without putting too much too soon on an artist I barely know from a can of paint – but I’m going to anyway - “How I Feel” immediately echoed partial sentiments to Amerie and the late Aaliyah. Encapsulated by an instrumental that feels catered towards Sade, R.J.’s organic and emotionally befuddling vocals help complete the platter making it a dish best served around that special someone.

When a talented artist and equally talented producer lock themselves in a studio, the result is usually beneficial to their careers and the taste buds of fans. Rochelle and her in-house beatsmith Klash are taking upon the task to pay homage to N*E*R*D’s In Search Of… and Nothing and Radiohead’s King Of Limbs and Half To The Thief for a project toe tagged as In Search Of…Radio. Look for that orgy of sounds and styles to collide with the Internet in July.
