One of the downfalls of the Electronic genre is the drawn-out intro. Take French Swedish DJ/Producer Avicii’s OG version of his roundhouse rager “ID (Levels),” for example. The song’s driving melody sucks you in like a Kirby vacuum and it’s so simmering it leaves you wanting to go battle-dance super-villains. I’m talking, blacktop in the summer hot. But, if you turned it off before the one minute and ten-second mark, you probably wouldn’t know that. More than likely, you would’ve called me names that rhyme with flag and thought this Chiropractor-friendly shoulder-shaker was just another drum-heavy, fist-pumping house track. Which it’s a million and one miles from.
If you’re intro turning the tempo up, getting amped and showing up Krang’s punk-ass, bare with the intro on this and let’s head to Dimension X with this sonic jet-pack.
Avicii – “ID (Levels)(Original Mix)”
Spotted @ The Chuckness

being a big edm & hip hop fan, good to see this getting some exposure outside the edm blogs and what not, Avicii is one talented dude (checkout bromance), crazy to see how the whole EDM scene is getting big these days (david guetta doesnt count). with deadmau5 djing the mtv music awards, Swedish house mafia playing with usher on the AMA’s, and alot of acts incorporating dance influences these days, only a matter of time before it goes to the mainstream fullblown, good looking beware
no….good looks 2 u. i will defintely be checking out that Bromance record….album? i dunno what it is…but im checkin it out.

@Totoro…
That video for Tim Berg – Bromance (Avicii Stadium Remix) is one of the best I’ve ever seen. No hyperbole. So original, in too many ways. I will definitely be posting that here.
Thank you for sharing.
Avicii is Swedish, not french.
You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. My recommendation…. stay away from the house genre. Anyone who calls Avicii a French DJ/Producer then continues to insult the basic composition of house music has absolutely no right to be talking about music on any scale. Even if it is on a blog as unfocused and generally uninteresting as Smoking Section.
YOU ARE DUMB.
avicii is famous for being so Swedish, and is quickly becoming one of, if not the single biggest DJ/producer in the entire world.
please do yourself a favor and stick to your ‘smoking section’ songs, because you clearly have 0 idea what you are talking about in terms of EDM
@ Mike Risbridger & BBurg – simple mistake. pointing out the discrepancy would’ve sufficed, but no, you both had to expose yourselves for being off-putting ungrateful snooty douchebags.
But that won’t deter Beware from writing & posting about genres of music that you two probably rarely venture outside of.
phreshh. keep expanding that musical palate my friends!
One of my favorite trance songs of all time – [www.youtube.com]
it was on A State of Trance 2009 (Armin van Buuren)
@Mike Risberger and BBurg…
Chill. It was a simple geographical mistake from a rap-dwelling Statesman who just found out about this artist – in gen – last week. I just want to share the good music. Is that really so wrong?
Are you there? Did we bore you right out of the comment section?
@everyone else….who had no clue what EDM meant.
It’s Electronic Dance Music, you maroons.
Shake my head at the EDM douchebags,
Go on youtube and call a gun magazine “a clip” the same Fact Police show up, whistles blowing, plastic badges showin…
Nope. unfortunately I had to gain some closure on this post that had so minimally affected my overall reputation of this blog. All I am trying to convey is if you are going to step foot in other genres of music please educate yourself (properly) before trying to educate others…
Teef- blow me. Ungrateful…. yes, snooty… probably, douchebags… absolutely.
and can someone tell me what the fuck Nunchuck Nino is going on about?
