@ Tins
So pissed I gotta work tomorrow and with miss most of Game 1. I’ve tried switching shifts and everything. The Heat seem to be motivated, and Boston has been REAAALLY quiet all week. I don’t really know what to expect. I have about 30 bets going on with dudes I know on if the C’s can win, which games, a possible Mi-EZ sweep, Shaq playing etc etc. I strongly believe we can steal Game 1 in Miami. Game 1′s are usually the most vulnerable games for the home team. I also believe that the Heat have a good chance of winning the 1st Boston meeting, seeing that they are a good road team. I’m also believe Jermaine O’neal is gonna be HUGE for us in this series. But I know the Heat are focused, because I KNOW they hate us. And Boston is one of the few teams that actually would benefit from a little time off. I’m expecting a Celtics/Bulls 2009 type series.
I read this article on the Celtics before the playoffs started. It was an interesting metaphor.
http://www.celticsblog.com/2011/4/12/2104154/the-current-celtics-dilemma-in-the-key-of-soprano#storyjump
And lastly I wanna shout out Willie muddasuckin P. His Mavericks did the unthinkable and made it out of the 1st round vs a good squad. Hopefully they and the Hawks can bring that same energy to the 2nd round.
@Cell – Yeah man, the thing with the Celtics is if y’all play the type of game you played up until the beginning of February, it’s going to be tough as hell. And if Miami plays the way they finished out that Philly series, it may be a quick one. Jermaine O’Neal is going to be big this series seeing as how he finally woke up and proved some worth. I think Jeff Green will be too b/c he played well those last two games against the Knicks.
For Miami to win, it’s going to take 3 things.
1) Wade has to have a good series. He’s had less than stellar games against Beantown this year. I imagine chasing Jesus Shuttlesworth will do that to you though.
2) THE BENCH. Someone shoot me a message if you’ve seen Mike Miller. The Heat will not win scoring 95 with the Three scoring 80 of those points. Boston’s defense is too good to let that happen four out of seven games.
3) Contain Rondo. Last year, Mo Williams had that dunk on Pierce in Game 1 and 20 points in the first half of Game 6 (ended up with 22 in the game b/c he was scared to even shoot the ball the second half). Rondo worked Mo something serious last year, so I have no clue what the hell he will do with Bibby and Chalmers. I’m guessing LeBron will be guarding him at certain points. Also, Bosh has to try to not let KG intimidate him. KG’s mental game is almost as important as his rebounds or points.
But I’m rambling. I’m sure we’ll be talking throughout the series. Let me know if I need to call a bomb threat from a disposable cell phone (I’m joking, America!) to make sure you see the game. And yes, shout out to Willie P and his Mavs for doing what no one believed they could. This entire second round is about to be exciting as hell. Heat/C’s, Lakers/Mavs, OKC/Memphis (that has 7 written all over it) and if the Hawks can present some type of resistance towards the Bulls, that would be great.
I’m going to check that Celtics/Sopranos article out too.
Celtics in 7, OKC in 7, Lakers in 6, Bulls in 5. Atlanta is content to win a series. Chicago wants to win a ring.
@ El Ro,
I almost agree with you. I think Okc will get it done in 6. Their defense is way better than the Spurs. And I was prepared to say that Atlanta could expend the series to 6 if they bring the same confidence and energy in the 2nd round but with Kirk Hinrich being possibly injured for the WHOLE series , it could possibly even be a sweep. But I think 5 is fair. I believe that Dallas (if they play with the same 7 and consistency can make a 7 gamer out of it as well).
@Tins,
2) THE BENCH.
———–
If this was the same Celtics bench from last year, then I would say that the Heat wouldn’t have a chance. Big Baby still has to get his game all the way back and Jeff Green, even when doing well, still finds ways to make mental mistakes and causes turnovers. He was a major reason why the Knicks were able to comeback in that last game. Delonte has been pretty much the most consistent all around bench player so far. Krstic is going to have to play D like he did in the last series w/o trying to overcompensate for the “selfless” mentality of the Celtics offense. I’ve been impressed by Joel Anthony’s defensive efforts as of late. He and Jermaine are gonna have some fun.
And if you COULD,tell them the bomb may or may not go off between 3pm to 6pm, all would be appreciated.

You forgot one Tins…
An act of GOD.
Celts in 6…and I hate Boston as a state, record label & as a muthafphuckin crew.
BTW – That Gibbs/Lil’ B post was epic!
“– Marijuana had a busy post-4/20 week.”
this is a huge understatement, but with implied meaning.
someone got high & tagged this billboard also….http://yfrog.com/h4qkohsj
whoops, http://yfrog.com/h4qkohsj
Russel Westbrook is making himself overrated. I think the Grizz win over OKC simply because of him. He has forgotten how to play PG, he let the recognition he got this year go to his head. He thinks he’s God’s gift to the Thunder when he’s about half as useful as Durant. It’s a shame but the team looks better with Maynor on the floor.
Celtics in 6, Chicago in 5
Grizz in 5, Lakers in 5
