Let’s say you happen to be celebrating 4/20. If you are, and visit this site, chances are Spitta and Alchemist’s new offering is dominating your soundtrack today and that’s fine. For a desirable change of pace, however, try Freelance Whales’ “Girl U Want.” The song is actually a cover from Devo’s 1980 hit record of the same name. Only in 2011 the New York indie rock group slows the tempo with more of an acoustic feel, nearly creating the ambiance an entirely new song in the process. Ingratiating describes the musical instrumentals from the guitars to the drums while enthralling defines the tone of Judah Dedone’s harmonizing. Zone out to it, smoke to it, come home after working overtime and drink to it. Just hit play and let the record do the rest. Simply put, this is dope.
The Whales’ cover appears alongside touring mates, Foals, who put their spin on Swedish Mafia House’s “One” as apart a split 7″.

This track is nice! I usually know whatever Tins posts I’ll like.
Today though, I only got to the Pippen track, then it made me wanna switch over to some Gibbs (esp. Smoke Away the Pain, How I Feel, Personal OG) Throw in a few classic Cypress Hill joints and I’ve been blazin through the day
Great headphones on while walkin around music!
