SXSW creates more than its fair share of wild stories and unlikely alliances but none more uncommon than the one between street-ready Freddie and international icon Will.I.Am. Yet, strong music and success open countless doors and with a song as motivating as “National Anthem,” the chances of worlds merging exists. Thus, we get a recharged beat via Will and a new verse from Gibbs to make the remix one for the books. On a personal level, keeping this one under wraps until the greenlight came was tougher than any information I’ve asked to hold close to heart. Love the song and love the potential look this creates for my brother.
