Contrary to popular belief or my previous words misconstrued, I do believe quite a bit of talent lies within Tyler and the whole OFWGKTA collective. They have the “it” that has managed to capture everyone’s collective ear, yet every antic and piece of output they create isn’t worthy of being fawned over. The unbridled media attention mirrors the attention paid to a high school ‘Bron and for every LBJ or Dwight Howard who’s found success and managed to live up to the hype – at least to a degree – there’s a Kwame Brown who’s wilted under the expectations.

Still, their nascent energy and aggression are congruent with the times, similar to the emergence of Ice Cube, Souls Of Mischief and PE during their respective periods. Hip-Hop needs the collective kick in the ass the Odd collective brings. So to all saying “Oh, Gotty™ hates OFW,” you’re mistaken. I sincerely wish the guys the best of luck.
