The Week That Was: The Regulators Edition

By J. Tinsley / 03.18.11

– Hip-Hop lost one of its most iconic voices with the passing of Nathaniel “Nate Dogg” Hale.

– Nick Schonberger gave us a look into what music he’s listening to right now.

– More Cigs were handed out this week. Lupe, The Chef and Pharoahe Monch were the lucky (or not so lucky) recipients.

– A great majority of the crew traveled to Austin for SXSW. We’re a forward-thinking and hard working bunch, so we even provided updates while the festivities were going on for those unable to make the journey.

– Weezy’s catalog is as about as extensive as his bank account, but here are 16 songs which may have gone under the radar throughout the years.

– In case you’re are not aware, March is the unofficial mixtape month for Hip Hop. Theo Martins, Plies, Young Dro, the official SXSW compilation, Jelly Roll and Sir Michael Rocks all gave away free music.

– Everybody loves dunks and the combination of Tyler Hansbrough and Dwyane Wade gave us more than enough to talk about.

– The “Fab 5″ documentary was nothing short of powerful, but Jalen Rose and Grant Hill dominated the sports headlines for the week.

– Apparently, MJ still thinks very highly of his former team.
