Flex debuted Jimmy’s next single, “Everybody Jones,” and it’s full of bottoming bass from another era when doing The Wop at a party meant you were cool. Thankfully, LaCrate’s production is thundering enough to overshadow Flexx’s penchant for dropping bombs. I guess the he felt charged after the listen and we understand why.

No irony should be lost on “Time Machine,” the latest offering off K.R.I.T.’s Return of 4eva, especially since the Mississippi brother has proven himself to be a throwback time and time again. While creating music for the now, he still manages to revert to the time when artists dabbled in duality, allowed to be cocky yet conscious and completely cognizant of their minute place in the big scheme of things. In the early ’90s though, K.R.I.T. would have probably been relegated to being a regional phenomenon so thank God for the technological advances which allow his Southern mellow music to transverse the country at a faster clip.
