On “Premeditated Murder,” J. Cole has a line that sticks out and rings true: “Keep grindin’ boy, your life can change in one year.” We tell ourselves the same sort of thing before walking through the doors of the job we hate, or the class that separates us from the degree we desire or even the obstacles in the way of our own mentally constructed dreams. The logic especially applies to Big K.R.I.T.
Before the now landmark K.R.I.T. Wuz Here left an indelible crater on iTunes nationwide, Mississippi’s own admitted to nearly calling it quits. Fast forward 12 months, several co-signs and one particular magazine cover later, life is much different and Hip-Hop fans everywhere thank God divine intervention took its course. How it has changed for Krizzle will be apparent upon listening to ReturnOf4Eva. I was blessed with the opportunity (and BBM convo that birthed it) to catch up with one of the project’s more influential figures and Tennessee mixtape legend, DJ Wally Sparks. He took me on a brief trip into the experience which was the making of K.R.I.T.’s newest audio memoir. Before digging in for yourself, look at this as further insight to the release from an outside perspective.

and he added koopa to time machine…illlllll shit worth the wait
This shit right here.
yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah
pardon me for not readin ur write up Mr. Tinsley.
i will get back to this afta ive soaked in the music.
Dude is dope. But see my comment in the other thread – another mixtape?
Time to head to The Batcave and change the industry.
Sincerely,
TRA
I’ve been waiting on this project like Tins has been waiting on LeBron to have a successful postseason. At least one of us is getting our patience rewarded. DL’ing now, playing it all night.
Big K.R.I.T. is one of my favorite artists (along with J. Cole & Curren$y).
He crafts amazing songs: from the beats, to the hooks, to the thoughts provoking 16′s he spits.
Definitely one of the best things to happen to hip-hop in the past 5 years or so.
I’d pay good money to have that album cover physically in my collection. I donated 10 tho, cuz ridiculous good music like this deserves some money!
I’ve been waiting on this project like Tins has been waiting on LeBron to have a successful postseason.
============================
Fucking bastard LOL. Can’t we save such disrespect for basketball posts??
It is not his fault he has played with Tommy, Cole and Air Gordon as his teammates in his first five postseasons. Granted, he has no rings (yet), but a career playoff average of 30-9-7 do not constitute as “unsuccessful.” I’ll save this for another time. Respect to K.R.I.T. for this project. About to take a listen in a few.
Fuck man, you got my blood pressure rising right now lmao hahahaha.

same. i need a vinyl
Speechless
Damn it feels good to give a good dude money for good music.
What K.R.I.T does with that 10 I Paypal’d is on him though lol
Nah, but for real though? So totally worth it.
Nice lil peek behind the scenes Tins.
Got a couple rolled up, bout to light one & see what Krizzle’s talkin’ bout this time.
I’ve been waiting on this project like Tins has been waiting on LeBron to have a successful postseason.

Damn…I wasn’t expectin that lol.
But is this on iTunes and/or in stores? Cause I need to shell out some money for this one.

All of this.
@ Tins; haha sorry for raising the blood pressure, had to toss a little jab in there though, but I agree I’ll save it for a hoops post, let’s celebrate the release of some dope music. Krit is definitely getting a sawbuck from me too.

This shit right here is changing the industry fam. He’s releasing a free album and getting people to beg for a physical release they can pay for. I’d shell out a Jackson for a ltd. edition vinyl in an instant.
dope
but fuck this multi-page click through.
let’s celebrate the release of some dope music
======================
I can agree with that my man.
tossed a hamilton in the bucket myself…would throw another 20 for a hard copy without blinking
I’m only a couple tracks in but he deserved my money for KWH…now I’m just pissed he’s touring with gibbs and not coming anywhere near me
automatically getting burn over everything till i let it soak
You can cop a hard copy (autographed too), go to the ‘Store’ on his webpage. There’s even a shirt with the cover design…just dropped a few $$.
This tape is something special tho…
Can’t wait to get this into the whip. After one spin, this is the best shit out since Big Boi. And its free for the masses… wow.
“Rotation” on repeat right now.
And yes, that’s as far as I’ve made it lol.
I tried my hardest to give this a full first listen with no skips, then “Amtrak” came on….
Got-damn that song is tooooo fuckin groovy. All I need is a Cadillac and a blunt or a black.
this man is on fire
This album is straight up banging. Good job, Krit.
word…Rotation is stuck on repeat!

^^^This is the greatest song title of the past few years.
KRIT has indeed done a great deed to hip-hop in dropping this album.
Shake It (feat. Joi)
^^^
This just feels like Southernplayalistic… era Hip-Hop to me and how it flows right into “Made Alot”…damn.
I fux with this tape. Hard body.
BTW – Seems like KRIT has successfully found his voice. The Pimp C inflection is a lot harder to detect this time out.

I would wait to see how many actually donated. Cats talk a great game but don’t back it up.
boy im having a hard time making it past R4 Theme Song lol
I copped the physical. We got to support our favorite artists ya’ll. Go cop too.
Merry KRITmas to all TSS, and to all TSS a good night!
*turns up speakers, presses play*
Best shit I’ve heard in forever.
I haven’t heard music that wows me in quite some time. Let me rephrase that–I haven’t heard music that wows me AND will stand the test of time in awhile.
KWH did that to an extent. But THIS joint is damn amazing. Feels a lot more cohesive that KWH and it just flows. No skips for me.
I need physical copies of this album NAOW!!! One for the whip and one to stash away for my grandkids.
Someone told me a few months back that we were setting KRIT up for failure by praising his music and that they didn’t hear what all the fuss is about.
I hope they’re listening to this and reading the various reactions.
Just spun this with the crew while watching the bulls game right now. After one play-through everyone wanted to hear it again, so we let it ride one more time, now we’re just picking and choosing tracks and probably gonna bump in entirety again. Krizzle dropped a certified gem.
KWH did that to an extent. But THIS joint is damn amazing. Feels a lot more cohesive that KWH and it just flows. No skips for me.
=========================================
Alla this.
KRIT displays some subtly this time out, both on the production end as well as lyrically. He’s matured alot since KWH & you still get the feeling that his best work is ahead of him.
best rapper alive.
K.R.I.T. is setting the standard right now. Name someone doing it better……I’m waiting……..now I will stop cause it cannot happen. He writes personal, which Drake did on a few tracks on “So Far Gone”, but he does it better. Passionate is the only way to describe this artist, his music is full of passion for music & life…..thank god.
i’m calling it now, this will be the “best mixtape that should have been an album” of the year…word to so far gone
Now this is how you pay respect to an artist. Definitely a good read and at the end an excellent link to quality music. No lazy two sentences and a zip link. RESPECT. Maybe there is hope.

Word to Teef & Athrin. I donated 10 of my good bucks. Just ‘cuz, the man deserves it.
PHYSICAL COPIES!!! That donation + the money for the album is the most I’ve dished out on any artist since my young days as a Outkast stan.
BTW- I think this’ll be in Rotation (pun) for a year or so.
WHY DOES THIS (FREE) ALBUM GO SO HARD!?!?!
krizzle stay giving us good music
haven’t even made it through the whole thing yet and I already bought the album (and copped that Smokers Club T)
*continues to put ‘Rotation’ in rotation*
It’s a shame that this project won’t overshadow Rolling Paper’s release tomorrow.
*Makes room in iPod*
BTW kudos for getting two of the best remix artist on Country Shit.
I saw Krit in concert with Spitta not too long ago. Gave him some dap and said thanks for the tape, which was krit wuz here. Looks like I have to do it again. He’s incredible, nothing more needs to be said
It’s a shame that this project won’t overshadow Rolling Paper’s release tomorrow.
——————————————————–
Shhhhiiiiieeeeettt*Clay Davis voice*
Rolling Papers will get a spin, after which I will pick my favorite tracks(On My Level and The Race already have the top 2 slot). After those tracks are picked, I will proceed to bump K.R.I.T. for a good portion of 2011
You know, people talk about “real Hip-Hop,” and you get a certain group that starts rolling heir eyes, talkin ’bout, “get over it old man, let the music evolve, you’re just a hater..etc, etc.”
Well, people, this is it. This is the difference. This is why I can’t really fux with Drake, Wayne, Gucci, Plies or whoever. Because music of this caliber is still capable of being made. And it doesn’t have to be East Coast, it doesn’t have to be boom-bap or DJ Premier-type beats w/ Nas-type flows, it just has to be no-gimmicks, pushing creative limits and made for the advancement of the genre & culture, not a product for mass consumption. Big KRIT is REAL HIP-HOP and all you apologists for the garbage can’t say shit. This is flat out better.

Man…
^^
That’s what I said EXACTLY.
It’s a shame that this project won’t overshadow Rolling Paper’s release tomorrow.
^^
Already has.
This is a dope ass album, pure southern fried country rap tunes right here. Sh*t is “sweeter than a plate of yams with extra syrup” to quote the great Big Boi. Pimp C is smiling down on this young brotha Krizzle. If ANYONE should be mentioned in forming a new UGK it should be Bun x Krizzle NOT Drake (personally I don’t think a new UGK should ever exist)!
Bout to buy a tee, and physcial CD… about half way through the tape now….
SIMPLY AMAZING!
been waitin on this since around this time last nite… def worth the wait.
Goin to see K.R.I.T., Gibbs, and DZA on April 27. this new album just making the wait worse haha
I co-sign everything Veego, Gotty, and Tres done wrote in the comments section.
I’ve already played this 3-times straight through and skipped to/repeated mad tracks. Gonna bump it straight through to go to sleep and again when I wakeup for work. You always hope an artist can deliver on the hype and anticipation of a project and it rarely happens, but K.R.I.T. not only delivers, he exceeds the expectations I had. KWH was incredible and my favorite release of 2010, and right now ReturnOf4Eva is the early leader in the clubhouse.
Also…
Another Naive Individual Glorifying Greed & Encouraging Racism….jeebus. The song title, the song, fuck. Krit brought the fire and fury.
With KRIT, Kendrick Lamar, and Freddie Gibbs around, how can you not like the future of the music? KRIT brings you a uniquely Southern sound with so much introspection and honesty. Gibbs give you gangsta rap that could only be born in the midwest, that reeks of authenticity. And Kendrick Lamar gives you real life insight into the world of the West, with an energy and openness that is refreshing.
What sets them apart from the vast majority of dudes is that all their music feels authentic. Like this is them 100%…and after meeting Gibbs and Kendrick, I can say that this is them on wax. That those words are them. I love hip-hop fam…just love…
My first time listening to him. Let’s see what y’all talkin about!
Any other dope mixtape or album I should check out as well?
what Tres said…i was at the listening session tonight and though i couldn’t decipher the lyrics too tough because the volume wasn’t at a level that they could be heard distinctly, i kept nodding my head to the beats. downloading now and will get my first CLEAR listen later on this morning. goodnight!!!

Dude…
I might have to cop that Return of 4eva shirt! Looks ill!
I saved 20 dollars this week for Rolling Papers…but that shirt is fly as fuck.
Fugg it Im gonna cop both.
donated $15 before i listened….
listening so far and i have NO regrets..up to track 21 & have not skipped…like previois commenters stated this is cohesive and is def up for mixtape that should have been retail EASILY….however, this way he gets alla his money and it’s deserved.
My Sub / Lion & Lambs…so far
thank you BIG KRIT
Why does 4EVA start now? Did he just now sell his soul therefore he is doomed for the rest of eternity?
K.R.I.T saved hip hop 4 me if it wasnt 4 him J.Cole and Jay Electronica tha shit wouldnt be worth listen to!!!

Can you believe I forgot about Jay Electronica? I am serious. What is going on?!?!
SMH
Right on…
One time for Justin reaching out to me and asking me to share some of the stories about the making of R4.
And, one time for everyone that took the time to download and jam the music. We appreciate it more than you know.
It’s the Return Of 4eva hoe!!
4.5/5
All seems so effortless.
sorry TSS, I wont be around the website to much today. Jamming this shit alllll day.
=====================
Perfectly understandable man.
KRIT doesn’t disappoint. Good music plain and simple. Copped the tee annnnddd just got my Big K.R.I.T. x Grillade vinyl in the mail a few days ago!!
All seems so effortless.
=========
that’s one of those intangibles about krit that’s always fascinated me. how the hell does he manage to make all this greatness sound so damn effortless. i never feel like skipping songs on his albums because track to track it’s just a continuous stream of coherent thought from a guy with a cool voice and nice delivery. no random similes, no celebrity jokes. no filler needed. not to mention the beats this dude makes. the sampling is so spot on. and yet he really makes some other cats look like they’re the ones trying way too hard lol..
nobody probably gonna read this but fuck it .
as the youth krit is the fucking man . im glad i seen him perform . as for the ep so far the best thing i heard in 2011.

Nah, we hear you homie.
R4 Theme song is giving me life right now … just lovely.
this is an amazing album def best of 2011 so far. dude is going to be a star if he is not already one.
This ia a classic
WHOOO.. first time givin KRIT a listen. I see you.
Kinda reminds me of TI, Jody Breeze, B.o.B., and Khujo Goodie all mixed up.. awesome.
Tracks 5 & 6 are bangers. Whole album is nice.
Refreshing album out the south, last one to surprise me was Willie Isz.
<3 for the souf
this is awesome, but whats a guy gotta do to get a 320 rip? this 160 just isn’t doing the beats justice.
Followed Teef’s lead and gave the man some money, anybody else having trouble with the download link on KRIT’s site?

Happily copped a physical copy of this album, fuck a itunes! This autographed copy will probably be worth more than my “Zoe and Tiggalo love the 80′s” haha
Can’t wait till Krizzle/Curren$y/Smoker’s Club et al. hit the Gunshine state again.
The album is the best content out. It follows up KWH nicely and cements K.R.I.T. has one of the best doing it in this new era of “hip hop” MC’s. I just wish K.R.I.T. could of released this album under Def Jam and not as a free project. People don’t buy albums anymore but this masterpiece needs to be under the umbrella of a label so that it gets its’ just due the same as Reasonable Doubt, Illmatic, and Ready to Die.
Wow..Awesome K.R.I.T. has delivered the most influential album to come from the south since ATLiens..for free. This is what one would have expected to organically evolve from influences like Dungeon Family, Ball and MJG, P.A., Triple 6, UGK etc.. It’s an amalgamation of the greats and at the same time a natural and unexpected growth of an artist who showed that he was more than capable. This is some longevity rap, progression at a SCARY level. Donated and downloaded. Mr. K.R.I.T. did his thing, and I’m expecting if Sha Money plays this correctly that he will usher in a wave of Southern artist who in themselves embody the total Southern experience….Dee Goodz next to bat?
amazing. album quality shit for free. krit is dope.
My speakers were not ready for “My Sub”. Haha
This album is gonna be in rotation for a while.
I love the fact that this has 87, now 88 comments. Good to see The humble man getting the attention he deserves
Not 88, but 89.
This passed the whip test with flying colors.
And with another day passing, I have another favorite track, “King’s Blues.”
def. dope! I was waiting for my ride to work to put this to the whip test too.
idk whatta kinda job Dirk has that he can show up sedated (some say buddha’ed, some say faded (c)Doom).
going to the krit/gibbs/dza show here in austin tomorrow. cannot fucking wait.
My homie KG just sent me these two reviews he found.

A 3.5 out of 5 though?
I told myself I was gonna be easy for a bit on the greens. *Rolls one up* Gotta smoke good to this right here!
@Tinsley – Yeah, I just read those. It’s complete bullshit.
Just so we can all be clear here…
** INSTANT CLASSIC **
Stop it with the “this is the best Southeren rap shit” KRIT is just a very good RAPPER and GREAT producer. He just so happens to be from sip. Stop trying to act like he’s not better than most rappers in the game, no matter their region.
Sooooooo does this mean that Return Of 4 Eva will get that coveted 5 cigs???
I personally hear that train comin…
The Vent. That song is beautiful. Healing. Cant remember the last time I heard music that meant something to me like this
Sooooooo does this mean that Return Of 4 Eva will get that coveted 5 cigs???
I personally hear that train comin…
its an Amtrak
I fux wit it heavy…banger committee..google me..free beats on deck daily!
I like this dude, he’s the only one after drake fell off that I actually feel has potential to make great music and not JUST sell a lot of albums. Oh and Kid Cudi :-)
definately sounds like some southernplayalisticcadillacmuzik. Best shit released in 4eva. I’m way late on this ha.
