One artist that had a considerable amount of buzz before and definitely since SXSW has been the New Orleans MC Dee-1. Thanks to the strength of “Jay, 50 and Weezy” and his stellar project, I Hope They Hear Me Vol. 2, Dee landed himself on one of the hottest bills in Austin, the Vibe House.
Not only did he perform his viral hit, he also rocked to my favorite track from IHTHM, “Blue”. Dee performed in front of a crowd that was largely unfamiliar with him, but he held his own, engaging the audience and showing his dynamic personality. By the time he hits SXSW next year, the crowd will most likely be rapping along to every word.

bought this dude album, but at 1st I didnt think it was gon be all that! I tell you what, its still insisde my deck right now!! this dude killed it!
Big ups to Dee-1! That’s me on the beat for “Blue” and the last track “Writer’s Block” on the mixtape. Support this dude, for real!

Writer’s Block was really intriguing, I know I was part of that last 2 at the end
The Crowd aint feeling this guy people react slow to the things they NEED to hear. if he was talking bout some bullshit they’ll be outta control!
