maaaan…fuck rocksmith. the last wu drop they hyped to be limited…my boy copped for his boutique & then the shit ended up EVERYWHERE.
so you’re mad b/c your boy (not you) bought something “limited” and it ended up being widely available? I bet his store sells Dunks & SBs too, right?
smh at “limited” releases anyways. Make that shit and sell it to as many people who’ll buy it lol.
Wu-Wear: The Garment Renaissance
I honestly can’t think of a creative way to rep U-God on a t-shirt that’ll sell
this is like sampling: (mis)appropriate something from the past, reinterpret & repackage it for (mass) consumption
I wonder if Power from the Wu is keeping all the money to himself for this joint venture with Rocksmith
no he doesnt sell dunks & sbs.
he copped with the belief that he was gonna be the only shop carrying the line & i copped a shirt off him believing i wouldnt really see anybody else wearin it. next thing i knew the wu shirts were in at least 8 local shops. its fucked up when reps tell a shop owner that something is limited & lead them to believe that they will be the only spot carrying a product & then stock otha shops with the same shit all within a 10-20 min drive.
Unless you’re buying a one of one, expect other people to have that shit.
I dig what you’re saying but if he’s selling the same brands and items as 8 other shops in such a small area, he’s gonna take L’s. I’ve heard it from countless shops. You know what they did to combat it? They got on their grizz and found new brands.
But I don’t deal in retail so what do I know.
thats the point man. he didnt know the rep was gonna be sellin to the otha shops or he wouldnt have stocked the line. the reps are shady as fuck & lie & tell the shop owners how they will be the only store in a ___ mile radius with the line & then go & sell the shit to anybody with $.
theres no sort of integrity with most of these labels. & because of that ive seen alot of local boutiques close up shop while the mall shops like pacsun (they carry rocksmith now) thrive.
this is gonna sound terrible but there’s very little integrity in business. I wouldn’t even lay the blame solely on the rep either b/c he was prolly in a catch 22.
still, that’s why i think it’s important for brands to stock smaller upstarts right along larger names.
well i just copped that wu-rocksmith crewneck with the bear…to fresh to pass up for me. thanks for the heads up Gotty.
And word to limited releases….the brand Diamond Supply seems to stick to the formula. If your looking to have that 1 out of 20 people to own a particular item follow the guy on twitter and check his site.
