March is defined by the Madness that is college basketball, but this year it’s also know in the Hip Hop world for the barrage of mixtapes we’ve all seen over the past 30 days. It may seem longer ago, but Chip Tha Ripper got us all started on the good foot during the infant stages of the month with the release of Gift Raps.
Up till now, Chip’s rugged flow alone has helped to depict the stories of a young man from Cleveland who hustled his way to become a fixture in this beautifully ugly landscape of Hip Hop. Any visuals along the way have only helped to drive the point home. With more set to come, there couldn’t have been a more fitting first video from said mixtape than its intro, “The Entrance.” Shot as if they recorded it straight from a TV (and fused with clips from New Jack City and Juice), the 216′s own provides outsiders an ‘entrance’ into his world from the street corners, to the studio and everything in between.

I don’t know I kinda felt let down by some of Gift Raps, been a huge fan of Chip but didn’t really feel it
Really feeling the song and its video treatment.
Someone must have stolen my old magnavox camcorder out the attic for this one. I knew I heard someone stirring around up there the other night.
Tht hook is PURE GENIUS!
we n ths hoe. Bitch. Bitch. We n ths hoe…lol
Love the vid. Reminds me of the box.
looks like the work of my man Ken Koller over at Ill Roots. Check him out at [kenkoller.com]
Gifts Raps is the shit, plain and simple. Chuck and Chip went in like a motherfucker and the end result is fire. Gift Raps = mixtape (that should have been an album) of the year.
This video is dope
I was never really into the Cool Kids but Chuck’s production fits real nice with Chips lax flow. Gift Raps wasn’t exactly what I was expecting from Chip, but its on point!
WEINDIS!
