Success has an uncanny ability to offer a powerful sense of hindsight. The highs remind you of the lows and fruits make the hustle and grind such a critical aspect to the journey. Whether Sean’s big day actually sticks or not, chances are he has already achieved more than a young man from the inner city of Detroit could have ever imagined. That was the entire purpose behind Finally Famous: The Album’s first single.

Fused in between the fast life of the present day and ancient footage of when it was all so simple, Sean and Chris Brown attempt to bring their lyrics to life with an apparent endless supply of women, parties and bottles. It’s not “24 Hours To Live,” but for what Sean is trying to do, the end product will work. Today also marks his birthday, so the video likely harbors an added significance. And while the following five minutes are not spectacular or groundbreaking, I respect anyone who can transform a dream into a reality. It’s what we’re all trying to do anyway.

Now this? This was dope. The energy damn bleeds through computer speakers so Lord knows how electric the actual performance must have been. Last Sunday at SXSW, illRoots x ScoreMore’s Sunday Swagger showcase saw a who’s who of performances including the likes of Bun B, Pac Div, Kendrick Lamar, Freddie Gibbs, Big Sean and more. During his set, Sean brought out Wiz to perform their collab “Gang Bang” and the entire crowd lost their f*ckin’ minds.
