Pusha’s “My God” is ripe with ex-hustler turned righteous rapper full of repent, a formula the Thornton bros have all but perfected. The approach can’t be contested when the music sounds so melodic and there’s conviction “in every bar and every cadence,” mixed with a hints of glowing materialism. The wages of sin may be death but we’re all going to die anyway and Pusha’s version of things make the doing bad seem like a feasible option.

I’m guessing the only person not giving this song a “eghck!” would be Cons, who shared his distaste via Twitter.
