Pusha’s “My God” is ripe with ex-hustler turned righteous rapper full of repent, a formula the Thornton bros have all but perfected. The approach can’t be contested when the music sounds so melodic and there’s conviction “in every bar and every cadence,” mixed with a hints of glowing materialism. The wages of sin may be death but we’re all going to die anyway and Pusha’s version of things make the doing bad seem like a feasible option.
I’m guessing the only person not giving this song a “eghck!” would be Cons, who shared his distaste via Twitter.

Pusha T – “My God” (Prod. by Hit-Boy)

Sorry Cons, dope is dope… and this is dope.
Couldn’t have put it better myself.
Biting is biting though…
Damn…Cons is mad huh. I guess that pretty much confirms the whole “Is Consequence still on GOOD Music?” question.
But Pusha is soundin hungry on this. Fear of God is shaping up to be the dope on dope *George Clinton ‘Fo yo Sorrows voice*
Con just salty because he’s gettin the least burn on GOOD Music.
^ Cons just salty cuz he got dropped like dueces
fixed that for you…
beat is fuckin doooooope
Pusha is nice…but damn near every song he does sounds the same.
this is nice.
Cons is ass, sorry but dude ain’t relevant.
Cons is ass, sorry but dude ain’t relevant.

Pusha wasn’t “relevant” until Kanye pushed him out there. If that never happened, this song would be a contained case.
A dope ass track from P & I’m really digging the beat! Can’t wait for his mixtape & I don’t understand why Cons hating!
Track is doooope
@Lil Nello, you dont understand why Cons is hating? Thats why you have Lil in front of your name, no disrespect but it means youre probably too young to have come in hip hop when biting was the worst thing you could do. Something you were real proud of creating, coming out of someone elses mouth. Now its like country and pop music, where it dont matter if you wrote it or not, its all about the dollars. But I wonder how far the biting goes, bcause this is a dope song and I want to believe at least 90% of it is Pushas creation
Cons is ass, sorry but dude ain’t relevant.

Whoa Kimosabi……Pusha wasn’t mainstream relevant, but within hip-hop the Pusha and Malice as much recognition as anyone in the game. Cons on the other hand…idk. I always looked at him as the Brian Scalabrine of GOOD Music. Doesnt get much PT, but when he does its always productive enough to keep a job.
“. . .have as much recognition…”
@ignite mindz 1st off people like you kill me just because I have lil in my name I’m all of a sudden to young or something to understand Hip-Hop! Yea I didn’t really get into music or Hip-Hop for that matter till the late 90s but that don’t mean I don’t do research & listen to stuff from before that! I know biting isn’t cool but I highly doubt an MC of Pusha status would do so! Most likely what happened is Pusha probably started coming around while Cons was still on G.O.O.D. & like most artists do bounce ideas off 1 another while in the studio which isn’t really biting if you trying to help the next man by doing so! Also not calling Cons a liar but for all we know it could be him just saying stuff because he’s bitter about no longer being on G.O.O.D.
The coke that I push is as pure as a child’s heart (my god)
Can’t wait for his release
I think saying Cons is irrelevant is off-base. The guy’s sustained a career thru rap’s changing phases. If that’s irrelevant, I wouldn’t mind being it one bit, esp. in this fickle business.
Too DOPE… !!!
If I was Cons and my argument was actually legitimate, I would have posted “the last supper” via twitter (that is, if I were into taking shots on twitter and not strictly in my music)…. Bring em out, bring em out.
I always looked at him as the Brian Scalabrine of GOOD Music.

Awwww cmon son that’s a little harsh lol. I ain’t gonna front, I was sleeping on Cons the 1st few years but he’s grown on me enough that if I see a Con’s post there’s a 90% chance he’s getting a DL. And if I see a Pusha(without Malice) then there’s probably only a 70% chance it’s getting DLed. But this track is nice.
Malice > Pusha.
cons – one solo album. a dope album
pusha – no solo album… a dope track
#facts
im curious to listen “last supper” song, so cons you know how to do with it !!! tweet this, twitt that
this is a dope track by Pusha T, and we all want to check his solo project OV COURSE
What did Pusha actually do?…steal a song title?…jacked the beat?…I don’t see where Cons slight comes from
Umm biting? Don”t forget that Weezys The Carter II sounds like a Clipse album and that the whole Bape thing in the generation comes from Pharell and the Clipse…
Cons is cool, but lets be real…Pusha is better
@ignite mindz you wack for trying to use the age thing…
Thats like saying just because you werent born 2000 years ago that you cant read the Bible…
Hip-Hop is changing my friend, either you evolve or get left behind. And as much as I like Cons, he has basically been doing the same thing since I’ve listened to him, which was in the early 2000′s.
Pusha wants more than just being the guy in the shadows, he’s going for the gold right now.
Okay maybe I was too hard on the Cons fool lol. But all i’m sayin is that he didn’t do enough to sustain his place on GOOD. Whatever U Want, Disperse, and The Good, Bad, and Ugly are the only highlights I can name. And aside from him being on one of my favorite songs ever (Spaceship) I never saw him do much.
Cons just mad because he getting pushed back further than Lebron’s hairline. Gotta know your role man, you’re on the bench behind Common, Mos, Legend, Pusha, etc. Everyone loves a role player who gets his minutes and doesn’t gripe. Nobody likes a guy who complains.
so i need to listen to cons – last supper to understand? noted.

This.
I tried to like Cons, but something about him just annoys me.
I haven’t heard Last Supper, but c’mon, its not like Push has a history of biting other peoples shit…
This just sounds like a rapper whining about not getting the same shine to me… sippin some of that Chi-Town flavored Haterade. If you are really that dope and dude is jackin your style then him up on wax, dont beef on twitter.
Ok so y is cons mad again? All ths emotional bhavior n hip hop has2 stop now….also Fear of God soon com.
pusha is a monster. til the casket drops was ultra fire. cons who?
