The visuals for “Inner Circle,” the first single off G-Side’s The One…Cohesive, show off a scope that extends far beyond the average. With subtle shots at an industry that tries to pigeonhole artists into preconceived notions and these space-age visuals, this duo eagerly makes it clear that they’re not the typical Southern rap group.

These fiercely independent rappers from Huntsville, Alabama travel the universe as different landscapes quickly flit past in the blink of an eye, cryptic messages are birthed from glowing cubes, and mysterious dancing girls appear out of thin air. While the special effects certainly set this video apart from the normal fare, there’s more to “Inner Circle” than flash. The atmospheric synths and strings of the Block Beattaz instrumental provide a perfect sonic backdrop for each emcee’s heartfelt lyrics, and despite the video’s glitter, it’s that combination that’s the true star here.
