Do we really need to gush anymore about how much we love the talent gathered and integrity behind this project? Let’s be completely honest here. Biased? Of course we are. We love K.R.I.T. We love Grillade. We’ve worked with and share a huge amount of respect for Yours Tru.ly.
All three of these parties have banded together for the release of The “Wuz Here” Sessions, a four track EP of K.R.I.T. going in with a live band and vocals in support. Yesterday, Yours Tru.ly announced the formation of a new label, Love Letters Ink, and a portion of the sales from the project go to therootsofmusic charity, a program dedicated to “Saving the youth of New Orleans through Music and Mentorship.” There’s two buying options, either digital or a limited edition 12-inch vinyl, both available via Bandcamp.
Now, don’t fxcking complain to me about Hip-Hop being dead, music having no soul or artists not possessing compassion or a higher purpose to serve. Instead, buy the product when it’s presented on a well-polished platter. At a certain juncture, it’s on fans to hold up their end of the bargain as patrons of the arts. Listen to the album sampler, watch the clip for “Hometown Hero” and then let your dollars speak in support.

Best BIG K.R.I.T track.
Why does she have to make those faces while she sings. She would probably be better with all that.
